论文题目：《剑桥英语史》第三卷（6.3-6.5）汉译实践报告

摘要：本篇汉译实践报告是基于理查德·M·霍格（Richard M.Hogg）所著《剑桥英语史》（第三卷第6章第3节至第5节）的英汉翻译过程而写。《剑桥英语史》是一部详尽地叙述英语历史的多卷本巨著,其恢弘的气度和内容的权威性都是空前的,该书第三卷介绍了1476-1776年间英国英语正词法、英语标点符号、音系学、词法学、句法学和英语的标准化过程等内容,显示了独到的视角和多样的分析方法。笔者所译的第三卷第6章的第3节至第5节主要介绍1476-1776年的英语发音、句法以及英语的各种地域变体差异等。笔者以汉斯·弗米尔（Hans Vermeer）的翻译目的论为理论指导,通过对目的论概念和原则的具体阐释,以及在分析原文特征的基础上,用案例论证了翻译目的论在语言史翻译中的运用。本报告分为五个部分,前两章为项目介绍、文本分析。第三章具体介绍国内外在翻译目的论上的研究现状、目的论的三大原则以及翻译目的论与传统翻译理论的对比。第四章主要是通过案例分析,阐述了翻译目的论在本次汉译实践过程中的运用,从而使译文能达到整体翻译行为的目的。最后一章总结本次汉译实践的心得体会及相关思考。通过本次翻译实践,笔者深深体会到针对语言史这种文学体裁进行翻译的不易之处。译者不但需要熟练掌握语言表达,更要忠实于原文语言特点,让目的语读者得到与源语读者相同或相近的阅读体验。最后,希望该报告能够给那些对语言史翻译感兴趣的译者以启发和帮助。
