According to some social surveys, we can see that the only child in most Chinese families feels lonely in some ways. Why the only child feels lonely? Is loneliness a terrible thing?

Compared with the western, the Chinese children are shyer in communication, which is a reason to make them lack of friends and companies. On the other hand, as the only child in the family, they can’t enjoy the happiness from brother or sister. When they meet some troubles, they have to deal with them by themselves; they can’t get help from their family fellows. Therefore, compared with the children who have brother or sister, the only child would feel lonelier.

However, is loneliness completely a bad thing? Obviously, the answer is no, because loneliness also can bring something good for them. It is reported that the only child possesses more advantages than other children in personality and in thought.

Firstly, the only child is more independent in personality. Lacking of help from others, they are used to dealing with all kinds of things by themselves as much as possible. Thus, the only child would be more independent in life and they can endure more setbacks and pressure. In addition, when they leave their parents and start to live alone, they would meet fewer difficulties. But the precondition is that they don’t rely on their parents deeply.

Moreover, the only child has wider horizon than others. As the only kid in the family, they can enjoy better conditions in life or in education, and they have more opportunities to get in touch with fresh things and accept higher education. In this premise, loneliness gives them more time and space to think after study. As the saying goes, genius is the product of the loneliness. Einstein is a good example. Therefore, on the one hand, the only child feels lonely. But at the same time, one can enjoy loneliness when thinking. Loneliness brings more chances to think of meaning about life and future.

In a word, the only child feels lonely but also can get some benefits. Learning to enjoy loneliness, one would be easier to taste the real life.

(A)

A good teacher is many things to many people. In my own experience, the people I respect the most and think about the most are the teachers who demanded(要求) the most discipline(纪律) from their students.

I miss one teacher in particular that I had in high school. I think she was a good teacher because she was a very strict person. I remember very vividly (清晰地) a sign over her classroom door. It was a simple sign that said, “Laboratory—in this room the first five letters of the word was emphasized(强调), not the last seven.” In other words, I guess, labor for her was more important than oratory, which means making speeches.

She prepared her work very carefully and demanded us to do the same. We got lots of homework from her. Once she had broken her arm, and everybody in the class thought that maybe the homework load would be reduced, but it continued just the same. She checked our work by stamping her name at the bottom of the papers to show that she had read them.

I think sometimes teachers who demand the most are liked the least. But as time goes by, this discipline really seems to benefit(有益于) the students.

Girls can easily get sad. If your friend is feeling blue and calls you, what will you do Here are some tips on how you can make her smile again.

Listen to her. When people feel sad, they often have the feeling of needing to be heard. So, listen carefully to what she is saying and do nothing else. Your friend will surely thank you for being the shoulder she can cry on.

Once you are done with listening, you can offer some advice or remain silent and let her feel everything and let it all out by crying. As a friend, you might think you should give her some advice. But if you have no idea about what to say, just remain silent and be there for her.

In order to be able to help your friend in need, don’t be sad for yourself. How can you help your friend when you are also feeling down

A hug can make a difference in the word. It makes you feel warm and special. A hug makes you feel safe. So give your friend a hug when she needs it the most.

Spend more time with your friend who wants to be happy. Do things together like washing dishes, cleaning, or going out for fun. The more time you spend together, the stronger your friendship will become.

To see the world is one thing. To have someone to share it with is another. Indeed the travel becomes more interesting when you have a travel partner. A travel partner can be a close friend, a family member, a pal you’ve met online, or a business

You can have someone to talk to

Traveling alone is fun,but wouldn’t you feel lonely Having a travel partner can remove the feeling of loneliness. This is especially true if you can get a travel companion who is very familiar with the place you, re traveling to. You don’ t have to ask any information from the locals, and you can increase the time you spend in the country.

One of the major headaches in traveling is the costs involved. You can’t simply ignore the rising price of hotels or plane tickets. You should also think about your daily needs, such as your food. Of course, you can’t simply go back without bringing any souvenirs (纪念品)to your friends and family. All these can ruin your budg- et(预算).However, when you have a travel friend, you can have someone to share the expenses with.

You can meet a good friend

Having a travel mate is a good way of meeting a new friend or even a lifelong partner. You can never count the number of couples who actually found their way into each other’s heart while traveling together in another country.
