一所学校有几个名师, 实属正常, 一个教研组有几位高手, 也有可能。可是, 一个35人的团队却能有这么多的风流人物, 的确不同寻常。其实, 回望连云港外国语学校初中语文组近年来留下的脚印, 便会发现, 这样的不寻常其实绝非偶然。

初中语文教研组秉承了“不断创新、不断超越”的连云港外国语学校精神, 确定的发展目标是“高品位、深内涵”。因此, 在组内各项常规工作步入正轨进入常态之后, 教研组组长朱薇便把教研组工作的重心落在了两件事上。

一.明大势, 投身课改

几年前, 连云港外国语学校初中语文人面临的课改形势是:连云港市“建构式生态课堂”已经由“浅水区”迈入“潜水区”, 日渐成熟的区域型课改亟需更加有力的深度推进和更加高端的示范典型;连云港外国语学校文化的建设需要高品位的课程保障, 探索校本化的课改模型、加快教师的课程开发能力和执行能力已成为当务之急。在这样的课改背景下, 语文组开始了艰难而又坚定的课改探索。

1.转益多师, 吸纳课改成果。

吸纳课改名校的成果, 语文组先后选派几十人次, 随同学校考察团外出参观学习。于此同时, 还与省、市教科所及高校语文教研机构密切联系, 邀请许多语文界专家来校讲学。一来二去, 在语文组, 课改理念日渐深入人心, 尊重学生、相信学生、解放学生的学生观被自觉践行, 先学后教、以学定教、能学不教的教学观日益彰显。

2.博闻约取, 坚守语文阵地。

面对课改中的各种新生的理念、模式, 我校语文人始终秉持扬弃的态度。扬弃的标准便是能否符合语文学科的教学规律、能否体现语文学科的教学特点、能否高效提升学生的语文素养。保持清醒的头脑, 便可以做到既有所创新又有所坚持。在外国语语文组的课改中, 方法、策略都可以改, “语文味道”却是坚不可摧的。

3.务本求实, 创新课堂模式。

近几年来, 外国语初中语文教研组教师以省教科院重点资助课题《精细化管理促进和谐校园建设的行动研究》为抓手, 构建课堂教学管理的精品化模式。抓住“对话”这一语文课堂的关键, 在生生对话、师生对话、师生与文本对话方面做了许多探究, 逐步形成了语文课堂校本教学模式:学→示→讲→练。事实证明, 这是一个科学合理、可操作性强的教学模式。它触动了学生乐学向上的积极情绪, 激发了学习语文的动机;它搅动了学生怠慢学习的消极情绪, 保持了学习语文的兴趣;它撼动了学生敢于超越的学习情感, 实现了学习语文的自觉。在这样的语文课堂中, 学生主动学习, 主动建构, 主动展示, 主动思考。它符合学生阅读文本的认知规律, 能帮助学生形成良好的语文综合素质。

二.聚大智, 彰显特色

教研组的使命, 一是要探索提高“教”的效益的方法, 一是要找寻培养“研”的能力的路径。连云港外国语学校初中语文教研组用课改提升“教”的效益, 至于培养“研”的能力, 走的则是凝心聚力、团体作战的路径。

1.组建读刊共同体。连云港外国语学校为全体教师每人订一份教学类刊物, 这件事已经坚持了好几年。怎样把这个政策用好, 让这些刊物最大限度地发挥作用呢?语文组的策略是:各自阅读—推荐重要篇目—复印装订—集中学习研讨。采用这种学习模式, 人手一份的刊物在这个团体中就变成了几十份, 每位老师获取的有效信息量也是成几十倍地增长。于是, 在不知不觉之中, 连云港外国语学校初中语文教研组的“读刊共同体”便逐渐成形。

2.形成研究共同体。集体读刊助推了外国语语文人的专业成长, 拓宽了他们的学术视野, 也培养了他们研究的自觉和自信。先是在学刊时自发地研讨语文教学与研究中的热点、焦点问题, 然后是自觉地结合大家教学实践中的收获和困惑设计小型的研究专题。也是在不知不觉之中, 连云港外国语学校初中语文教研组的“研究共同体”慢慢长大。最近, 这个共同体的研究对象已经由小型研究专题拓展至大型的研究课题, 相关的课题还获准成为国家级课题的子课题。

两个共同体为外国语语文人真学真研搭设了平台, 也彰显了连云港外国语学校初中语文教研组的特色。

一、巧设计,探究文化的内涵

以人教版“Go for it”九年级Unit 9 “When was it invented?”为例,本单元以“inventions”为话题,通过对过去时被动语态的学习,了解不同发明物的有关历史。我设计两条主线,让不同时态的被动形式变化得以呈现和反复训练,并注重在教学中展现相关的文化内涵。

以inventions的“过去——当今——未来”为主线贯穿整个单元的学习过程。从Section A的car, computer, calculator, telephone等物品的发明历史谈起,到现在大家熟悉的iPhone, PSP等, 再到很多对于未来的奇思妙想,如pens with light on the top, electric chopsticks,Google眼镜等, 引导学生从发明者、发明时间、发明用途等不同角度来丰富话题。过程中反复操练了重点知识结构:be invented by...,be invented in..., be used for doing...,be used to do...借由贯穿了过去、现在和未来的话题引出“inventions”背后新奇、有趣的历史或故事,学生的积极性、学习兴趣和信心被充分的调动起来。

另外,我以“中国——外国——全世界”为线拓展inventions话题,设计介绍了中国古代四大发明、西方近现代发明、世界未来大预测等内容。整个话题从民族延伸到外国,更放眼世界。学生以个人或小组的形式,充分利用图书、网络等资源,主动了解、探索话题后的文化背景与内涵,体会到学习的乐趣与成就感。

二、择时机,渗透文化的真髓

以人教版“Go for it”九年级Unit 3 “Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes”为例,单元的话题是家规、校规等各种规则。通过学习,学生了解到中西方教育的许多共同点。比如:在校学生不应穿耳洞;夜晚未经家长许可不能外出。但许多学生受制于见识或错误理解,仍然平添了许多“他们比我们自由得多”的羡慕,对种种约束感到不满甚至是抱怨。我便择机向学生介绍了美国学校的校规:美国学生早上5:45必须起床,早餐后乘校车到校。7:40开始上课。每节课30-60分钟。中午休息加午餐只有30分钟的时间。上学不许戴帽子、墨镜;不许穿过肥的裤子;上衣必须扎在裤子里;上学使用的书包必须是透明或网状的,能一眼看清里面的东西……听着一条条规章制度、一个个细节,学生们露出了诧异的眼光。虽然是课堂上的“顺便聊聊”,学生却得以正确认识西方教育的自由、个性只是表象,其实他们也有对学生的种种严格约束或规则。通过背景文化的正确介绍与引导,可以避免学生对外来文化的的盲目推崇与效仿。

三、阔眼界,感受文化的魅力

Unit 7 “Where would you like to visit?”是一个以“vacation”为话题的单元。我设计了通过阅读和观看各国申奥视频的方式,介绍了“国外学生度假方式及取向”的背景知识,以及亚洲、欧洲等的不同风土人情与文化差异。又如Unit 12 “You are supposed to shake hands”,我提前布置学生利用周末上网、查阅资料,分组了解哥伦比亚、瑞士、日本、美国等国的交往礼节。在有关餐桌礼仪的学习中,我设计了“聚宝盆”环节,学生搜罗相关信息,既巩固了课本的内容,还了解到不同国家的习俗:在秘鲁,人们在餐桌上交流才被视为礼貌;在巴西,人们每次喝过东西后都要用餐巾或纸巾擦嘴。学生通过各种办法搜索信息,积极的准备,窥探大千世界的种种习俗、礼仪。

我也积极引导学生多接触各种英文材料,如经典原声电影、流行歌曲、《英语画刊》、《英语周报》等适合学生认知能力的课外学习材料,既锻炼了阅读理解的能力,也从中开阔了眼界,极大地激发了学生对外来文化的好奇心和不断学习的兴趣。
