一、英文歌曲欣赏与语音训练

中国人在英语发音上总是不自觉地带上当地口音, 这是不少英语水平不低的人一张口还是一口Chinese English。很多英文流行音乐的歌词都是积极向上, 并且有大量的地道的口语词汇以及其标准的发音。因此学唱英文歌曲对学生发音都有很大的帮助。如有这样一首歌曲You Are My Sunshine歌词如下:

You are my sunshine, The only sunshine, You make me happy when skies are grey.You’ll never know dear.How much I love you.So please don’t take my sunshine away.

“the”是中国学生的一个发音弱点, 关键是不知道这个音是咬舌音;You make me happy when skies are grey.这一句中k这个音必须失爆;skies中双元音[ai]口型比汉语中“爱”的口型大得多;而grey中的[ei]口型相对要饱满一点;please don’t take my sunshine away.中连读, 爆破相当明显。这些细小的语言技巧很容易被我们忽略, 就这一首歌曲, 就能有如此多对发音有帮助的地方。看来这样的歌曲的确是一笔很大的财富。可惜的是不少人都并不清楚这一点。英语歌曲对爆破、强读、弱读、浊化、语调, 口型要求很高, 把握好这点, 唱出的歌曲才不会有支离破碎感。初中生模仿能力很强, 他们的发音会在潜移默化中得到快速的提高。

二、英文歌曲欣赏与听力训练

欣赏英文歌曲前, 可以先把不完整的歌词板书在黑板上, 让学生做复合式听写训练。重要的单词词组、同音异义词、出现连读爆破的地方、单词押韵的地方等等可以故意漏掉, 当作让学生听写的部分。学生很喜欢这类有趣又有挑战性的活动。教师可以让学生分析没填出来或填错的地方, 用以帮助学生找出他们发音或听力上的不足。

三、英文歌曲欣赏与词汇教学

笔者认为利用英文歌曲欣赏辅助英语词汇的学习是一种很有效的方法, 它能使学生在快乐的欣赏中自然习得。众所周知, 英文歌曲是经久不衰的。唱起来朗朗上口, 记起来方便快捷。它们一旦与英语词汇教学结合起来就使枯燥的词汇学习变成了美妙的艺术活动, 从而提高了词汇学习与积累的效率。一句SHE演唱的“You are my superstar”绝对强过生硬的前缀和相关词”supermarket”“superpower”“superman”“supergirl”等的讲解, 因为它能立刻引起学生共鸣, 并使他们对此前缀的用法过目不忘。让学生化苦学为乐学, 变低效为高效, 甚至会产生“余音绕梁, 三日不绝”的感觉。

一、推进全英文教学的必要性

在新的时代,对英语学习的要求不再是单一的懂,更重要的关注点是学生是否能自如地在实际生活中运用在课堂上学到的知识。

新课改的教学理念强调教育不只是关注知识的教授和学习,学生在学习中应该更多地关注知识在生活中的运用。比起结果,更关注学习的过程。要求教育要培养出能适应未来社会发展需要的人才。在这样的要求下,高中英语教学需要摆脱过去过分注重课堂知识点的传授的牢笼,尝试推行新的教学方式。高中英语教师在知识的教授中以汉语为主,甚至有些高中教师在英语的发言上略有不足,汉语教学在英文学习课堂上占主导造成学生对英语运用方面有些缺失。这是尽快推进全英文教学一个必要原因。

随着经济的发展,我们越来越与国际接轨,在很多时候需要运用英语进行交流。因此,在高中英语教学中要致力于培养全面的国际化人才。但在我国英文学习中存在着地方英语的现象,在学习中英语教育方面听的多,说的少,说出来也被加入不同地区的方言,普遍存在英语语感不足。所以需要在教学中提供英文的语境学习,才能让学生锻炼出英语语感。我们应该意识到培养人才的目的,是为了更好地服务于社会的发展。

作为我国的高中生,在学习英语上本身可能会产生一些排斥的心理,而且在现今对学生英语水平的要求不再只是认识和会写,更多的要会说。需要让学生有一个适应和习惯的环境。从英文学习本身特征出发,是需要不断练习的,熟练的练习才能让学生掌握运用方法。俗话说,勤能补拙,这就需要学校在教学中为学生提供全英文的环境,所以,为了学生的全面发展,也需要全力推进全英文教学。

二、推进全英文教学的重要性

全英文教学能很好地扭转高中英语教学的不足。全英文教学促进英语教师在教授学生的过程中不断完善自己,不断地提升自己的教学水平。高中英语教师在学术能力上达到了一定的高度,也在教学中形成了自己独有的一种教学方式。但在一种新的教学方式上,让教师以局外人的身份看到自身教学方式的不足,为了更好地使教育效果有所改变,全英文教学对教师来说也是重要的一次改变。

推进全英文教学是对新课改的贯彻,也能提高学生学习英语的成效,提高课堂教学效率。更重要的是,推进全英文教学能改善目前英语教学现状,提升学习效果。传统的教学方式在新的時代背景下逐渐显现出来的劣势可以由全英文教学方式来补充。

全英文教学通过教师在课堂上与学生的英语交流,让学生在日常生活中适应英语语言环境。学生在与教师交流的过程中,也能提高自身英语方面听说读写的能力,让学生减少对英语运用的排斥,重新看待英语学习,让学生知道英语学习不只是背诵听写单词,记忆语法的简单的学习工作,这种教学方式可以让学生在课堂英语交流中提升英语的阅读水平和写作水平,更重要的是让学生在日常生活中具备自如的读写的综合能力,能与其他人用英文自由交流的能力,这些也是对新时代学生的要求,是现代教育的意义。全英文教学能帮助学生树立英语运用的自信心,让学生能积极地运用英语,将课堂上学到的知识运用到实际生活中去,服务生活。

总之,全英文教学能满足新课改对高中英文教学的期望。因为新课改的要求和经济的发展需要培养全面的、有能力的综合人才,所以需要全英文教学来帮助学生去提升自己,完善自己。在这个过程中,全英文教学还对教师和英语教学体系发挥着重要的作用。所以,高中教师要改变自己的观念,全力实施全英文教学。

英语作为一种全世界广泛通用的语言之一, 是人与人进行沟通和交流的工具。对于我国学生而言,其日常生活中接触英语的机会不多, 因此不能放过任何一个学习英语的机会。英文歌曲之于英语教学,首先它能调动学生的积极性,通过较经典的英语歌曲的学习, 让学生体会学习英语的乐趣。在课堂中播放英语歌曲,刺激学生大脑的兴奋度,保持良好的精神状态,使学生感觉枯燥的英语也可以这么有趣,从而唤起他们学习英语的兴趣。其次,增强学生的记忆,部分学生在学习英语过程中,普遍感到枯燥、无味,慢慢便对学习失去兴趣。通过英文歌曲,加深学生对个别英语单词的记忆,特别是某些难以记忆的单词,一旦在英文歌曲中出现,学生便会利用各种学习工具,如电脑、词典等,查找英语单词的中文意思,这样学生在不知不觉中便记住该单词。此外,通过对英文歌曲的学习, 还能全面提高学生的综合水平, 相对于中文歌曲,英文歌曲不仅需要学生认识单词,还需要理解、极易、阅读等,涉及学生的各个方面,所以在学习英语的过程中,学生的综合能力得到锻炼。

二、初中英语教学中英文歌曲的应用

(一 )将英文歌曲作为背景音乐

当前,英语教学不再是单一的黑板、粉笔、教师一人在讲台上唱独角戏,更多的是以多媒体的形式,通过图片、声音、视频等形式,让学生充分融入学习。对于此,教师在英语教学过程中,可以将英文歌曲作为背景音乐,提高学生对英语的学习兴趣及对语言的接受能力。在朗读和阅读的过程中,添加合适的英文背景音乐,有助于营造令人愉快、轻松的学习气氛。在背景音乐的熏陶下, 学生更容易激起强烈的情感冲击和丰富的画面联想。他们的思维变得更活跃,也能更好地把握住作品中人物的内心世界及作品的主题思想。例如,可以播放诸如雪绒花、Waiting here for you、You raise me up等节奏较为轻柔的音乐,让学生沉醉其中,消除学生的负面情绪,有效增强学生的英语语感。

(二 )将英文歌曲贯穿整个教学过程之中

英语学习是一个漫长的过程,学生要不断积累。在教学过程中,若太过单调,不仅学生学习情绪会不高涨,还会影响学生对以后的学习,得不偿失。英文歌曲能够有效增加学生的词汇量。很多英文歌曲都包含大量的词汇知识,如Be whatyou wanna be,在这首英文歌曲当中 ,包含有大量的名词 ,特别是歌曲的 开头 :Doctor,actor,lawyer or a singer,why not president? Be a dreamer,you can be just the one you wanna be.Policeman,fire fighter or a postman,why not something like your oldman?You can be just the one you wanna be. 短短几句歌词便包含有大量的名词,对学生学习英语职业名称这一章节是大有裨益的。

(三 )将英语歌曲作为英语教学的文化背景

初中英语学习是有规律可遵循的,如文化章节、时间季节章节等,和这些章节有关的英文歌曲都能从中找到。例如,在学习“节日”这一章节时,教师可以通过播放Jingle bells这一耳熟能详的歌曲,加深学生对节日的记忆,特别是对“圣诞节”—Christmas这一单词的读写 , 便于学生对难记单词的记忆和理解。
