我院王子鸣同学在外语文化节演讲比赛中取得优异 成绩

11月30日18时30分，我校外语文化节演讲比赛在外国语学院隆重举行。本次比赛由校团委，国际交流与合作处，学工部以及教务处主办，外国语学院承办。应邀出席本次比赛的领导有我校教务处处长林秋华，校团委社团部部长任永明，外国语学院党委书记许崇波以及文学院高级辅导员孙世友，此外担任评委的还有赵永梅，王平，顾慧萍等老师。王子鸣同学代表我院参加了本次比赛。首先由主持人致以慷慨激昂的开场白，并就比赛规则及评分标准进行了简要说明。接下来，比赛正式拉开帷幕，比赛分为“演讲”和“即兴回答”两个环节。此次共有 19 个来自不同学院的同学参加了比赛。我院王子鸣同学的演讲《what we can’t afford to lose is process》，或慷慨激昂，或深情低沉，或情感真挚，将青春风采展现得淋漓尽致。并且她凭借清晰流利的口语，声情并茂的演讲获得了评委老师的一致赞赏。在“即兴问答”环节，王子鸣同学凭借较高的英语水平、较强的临场发挥能力和应变能力，从容回答所选问题，赢得观众阵阵掌声。最后我院王子鸣同学获得比赛的一等奖并接受了许崇波书记的颁奖。

伟大的教育学家陶行知先生说过:“要解放孩子的头脑、双手、脚、空间、时间, 使他们充分得到自由的生活, 从自由的生活中得到真正的教育。”在初中英语课堂中, 教师要积极地创造机会让学生自由地展现自我, 把学习到的英语加以运用和展示。因此, 课前演讲就是让学生展现自我的小小舞台, 让学生在参与的过程中体验到英语学习的魅力, 并获得心智和能力的发展。以下是笔者结合自身近几年来开展的课前演讲活动, 浅谈一下课前演讲在英语课堂中的应用。

一、课前演讲的作用

(一) 锻炼学生的胆量, 提高学生的心理素质。

很多学生在进入初中阶段后, 往往会变得害羞、胆怯, 渐渐变得不爱发言, 被老师点名发言时, 也不够自信, 常常出现脸红、心跳、语无伦次等情况。另一方面, 初中的英语课堂明显比小学紧凑, 英语课教学的内容经常会很饱满, 只有少数几个积极举手的学生有机会表现自己, 而大部分学生的口语表达能力得不到锻炼。所以很多学生的英语表达能力很弱, 心理素质也较差。因此, 利用课前3至5分钟来进行英语演讲就显得很有必要。课前演讲给每个学生提供展现自我的机会, 使原本优秀的学生能够充分地表现自己, 使原本胆怯的学生慢慢胆大起来, 很好地提高了每个学生的心理素质。

(二) 促进学生英语知识的积累, 提高英语素养。

课前演讲的内容常常有很多课外的单词、短语、谚语等知识, 教师可以让演讲者课前把新的知识板书到黑板上, 让其他同学记录到收集本上, 变成大家的额外收获。这样长期坚持下去, 学生的词汇量和知识面将得到很大的扩展, 促进了学生英语知识的积累。演讲的内容也具有多样化, 有讲故事、说笑话、谈理想、讲兴趣、谈社会、评时政等, 从而启发了学生的心智, 开阔了学生的视野, 提高了学生的英语素养。

(三) 提高学生的语言组织能力和表达能力。

学生的充分准备是课前演讲成功的前提和保障, 无论何种形式的演讲, 学生都要挑选材料, 梳理知识。在其过程中, 学生分析问题、解决问题的能力逐步得到提高, 学生的语言组织能力也得到了提高。在经过几轮课前演讲后, 原本说起英语断断续续的学生也变得流利起来, 自信起来, 他们的语言表达能力明显有了提高和进步。

(四) 调动学生英语学习的积极性, 转被动为主动。

课前演讲的开展, 是从学生的兴趣点出发, 学生能积极主动作精心准备, 热情饱满的进行演讲, 在整个过程中充分发挥了学生的主体性和主动性, 学生在内心深处将英语学习变成一种积极的心理需求。课前演讲让学生充分地感受到学习的乐趣, 把学英语从被动转化为主动, 这对整个初中阶段的英语学习起着至关重要的作用。

二、课前演讲的内容

课前演讲的内容多种多样, 学生可以根据自己的兴趣爱好来进行选择, 教师作适当的指导与调控。

(一) 学生自由选择演讲内容

1. 介绍自己或周边人或物

在初一上学期, 尤其在开学一两个月里, 班级刚组建, 让学生进行自我介绍或介绍周边人或物, 不仅可以促进学生间的互相了解, 而且可以减少演讲者的紧张感, 让每个学生都能轻松进行演讲。学生往往喜欢这样一些话题:introduce myself, my home, my dream home, my best friend, my family等等。

2. 课文内容改编

演讲的内容可以和英语书中的课文联系, 帮助每个学生复习学过的课文内容。演讲者可以复述课文, 也可邀请同学一起改编成对话进行表演等。如, 把7B Unit 5中的Reading内容改编成对话的形式, 采用小记者访问的形式进行课前演讲。

3. 讲英语小故事

学生可以收集一些自己感兴趣的小故事来做为课前演讲的内容, 如名人故事、童话故事、寓言故事和幽默故事等, 学生对英语课会产生期待, 每个学生都会听得津津有味。如, Making His Mark (刻舟求剑) , the Fox and the Crow (狐狸和乌鸦) 等。

4. 英文猜谜语

初中阶段的学生对猜谜语往往很感兴趣, 课前猜谜语可以很好地起到收心作用, 让学生快速静下来并集中注意力, 调动全班同学的积极性。如, Which letter is a kind of vegetable?Which is the longest English word?等。

5. 唱英语歌曲

英语歌曲可以起到调节课堂气氛的作用, 以比较愉快的心情开始英语课堂, 也有促进学生掌握课堂中的英语知识。学生可以唱英语小歌曲, 如Twelve Months, Colors等;也可以唱英语流行歌曲, 如, My Heart Will Go On等。

6. 介绍英语谚语

谚语的主要特点是言简意赅, 用日常生活中的具体事例来说明带有普遍意义的道理, 它既巩固了学生的英语知识, 又有励志的作用。如, Practice makes perfect. (熟能生巧) , Pride goes before a fall. (骄傲必败) 等。

7. 朗诵英语小诗

英语小诗简单易记, 容易背诵;形象生动, 激发想象, 学生在朗诵时琅琅上口, 增强自信。英语小诗有很多, 如Who has seen the wind?等。

8. 播报英语新闻

英语新闻既提高学生的口语表达能力, 又帮助学生了解时事政治, 把英语真正地与我们平时生活相联系。并请学生平时多注意电视里的英语新闻, 让学生进行模仿学习。

9. 给英文电影配音

给电影配简单的英文台词是学生非常感兴趣的活动, 学生的积极性很高, 他们可以请一个或多个同学一起来配音, 课堂气氛非常活跃。

学生自由选择演讲的内容还有很多, 如英文绕口令、英语播广告等等, 让学生发挥想象力, 大胆去尝试, 尽可能提高学生课前演讲的积极性。

(二) 教师确定演讲内容

到初二下学期, 从原来内容比较自由、注重兴趣的课前演讲可以逐步变为有条件, 有要求的课前演讲, 这是课前演讲继续深入下去的必然趋势, 否则就失去了演讲的生命力。这种训练方式可以由教师或特定学生提前一周告知相关学生话题, 同一周内可演讲同一话题, 以五个人进行比赛的形式进行。这种形式训练促进学生知识、能力、思维等综合能力的提高。

(三) 教师临时给出演讲内容

如想要在前两种方式的基础上进一步提升的话, 教师就可以安排学生进行即兴的课前演讲。这种方式需要学生思维敏捷, 逻辑能力强, 在前两种方式训练后, 部分学生可以进行即兴的课前演讲。教师可准备好多个话题写于纸上, 以抽签的形式进行。

三、课前演讲的注意事项

在初中三年, 学生若能持之以恒地进行课前演讲, 相信他们的口语表达能力、英语运用能力一定可以得到很大的提高。但是, 在实践中往往会陷入少慢差的旧圈, 课前演讲变成走场, 把课堂时间白白浪费掉。为了避免这种情况的发生, 教师应该在组织课前演讲时注意以下几点。

(一) 明确活动要求, 给予适当指导

在开始演讲活动前先开一个动员大会, 明确课前演讲的意义与具体要求, 激发起学生参与的欲望;了解课前演讲有哪些内容可以准备, 让活动变得有计划, 有条理。并指导学生演讲的方法, 如语音语调、动作神态等, 以恰当的方式指出学生的需改进的地方, 促进学生在原有的基础上有所提高。

(二) 内容安排先易后难, 随时给予鼓励

在初一时, 课前演讲的内容应让学生自己进行选择, 挑自己比较拿手的内容来进行演讲, 降低难度, 减轻学生的紧张感。到初二初三时, 根据学生发展的具体情况, 演讲内容的难度可在原来的基础上进行提高, 以便更好地发展学生的语言组织能力和表达能力等。同时, 教师应该随时鼓励学生不怕犯错, 大胆自信。并提倡每个学生之间做到互相尊重, 认真欣赏其他同学的演讲, 并用热烈的掌声给予鼓励。

(三) 及时评价与反馈

若想要课前演讲在三年时间内坚持下来, 评价与反馈是关键。每次学生演讲后要及时地进行评价, 可由多位学生点评后, 教师再作总结性评价。教师和其他学生对演讲者演讲的内容、神态、创新等方面给以适当的评价, 要做到客观、公正, 以鼓励为主, 以适当的方式让学生知道自己演讲的不足之处, 明确今后改进的方向。并且可以对在同一个星期或同一个月演讲的学生进行评比, 评出最佳演讲者, 来提高学生参与的积极性。

一、它训练了学生的语言表达能力

学生在限定的时间内把准备好的内容表达出来。要求明了、轻快、准确、令人信服。通过演讲，学生内在的表达能力在教师和全体同学面前真实地外传。“三分钟演讲”使学生比较准确地了解自己表达能力。如在用英语表达的过程中语言是否准确，语音语调是否合适，声调是否恰当，表情是否自然，感情是否真实等。在表达中，学生看到了别人，也看到了自己，讲评别人的同时，也在规范着自己。

二、有助于提高学生的英语写作能力和口语表达能力

如果按传统的教学方法，提高学生的写作能力，效果总是不甚明显。通过“课前三分钟演讲”有助于提高学生的写作能力，因为学生要想三分钟演讲取得较好的成绩，必须演讲前要组织好英语材料，用恰当的词汇和句子完成自己的演讲内容。因而说的过程，也是写的过程，要想说好必须写好，不能应付，这样就能调动学生的积极性，激发学生的学习兴趣。经过一个学期的训练，学生的英语作文水平和口语大有提高。

三、为进行思想教育创造了一个生动活泼的局面，开辟了一条新途径

因为学生演讲内容摄取身边所见、所闻、所感，内容丰富多彩。诸如理想抱负、人生价值、社会生活现象、个人生活感受、班级活动、家庭关系、读书心得、学生之间关系等，这都对学生思想有教育意义。

四、锻炼了学生逻辑思维

为了准备演讲，学生要选择材料和组织材料，进行认真地思考。先讲什么，后讲什么，怎样开头，怎样结尾，怎样提出问题，怎样进行论述，这些都要进行认识、分析、归纳等各种形式的思维活动。尤其是此外，“课前三分钟演讲”还能拓宽学生的知识面，培养他们敏捷的思维能力。
