论文题目：《中国元代科技史》（3-4章）汉英翻译实践报告

摘要：本论文完成形式为汉译英翻译实践报告。源文本选自中央民族大学云峰教授所著的《中国元代科技史》中第三章“数学”和第四章“地理学”。该书是百卷本《中国史》丛书之一,1994年于人民出版社出版。第三章主要讲述了元代数学的发展成果,著名数学家及其代表作;第四章主要介绍了元代对河源的探索、知名地理学家、地震和地质学。中文字数为20372,英文单词为15649。翻译中的最大难点体现在词汇、句子和语篇层面。首先,词汇层面的难点:（1）数学术语;（2）地理术语;（3）古代典籍著作名称。其次,句子层面的难点:（1）连谓句;（2）流水句。最后,语篇层面的难点:（1）衔接;（2）连贯。对此,首先寻找平行文本,选择计算机辅助翻译软件Transmate,并且根据平行文本建立术语库,创建翻译记忆库和翻译项目,最后使用Grammarly检查。针对以上的翻译难点,本报告主要采取的翻译方法为,词汇层面:（1）音译加注法,既保留术语的专业特色,又利于目标语读者的理解;（2）音译加直译法,保留元朝文化特色,准确传达原文内容;（3）直译加脚注,传达术语原意的同时,更有利于目标语读者的理解。句子层面:（1）使用非谓语动词或介词,体现古代汉语中动词之间的逻辑关系;（2）增加关系代词或关系副词,体现英语句子重形合的特点。语篇层面:（1）指称,使得内容更加紧密;（2）连接,增强语义上的衔接。（3）增加副词,增强语篇的连贯性。通过本次翻译实践,希望数学和地理学术语库的建立为其他翻译元朝数学和地理学的译者提供一定的参考。同时,借助Grammarly的检查纠正了许多翻译中语法的错误。
