摘要：幽默作为语言的一种特殊表达形式,是人类文化的精华所在。它是人们世界观、人生观和价值观在情感上的集中体现,渗透到人们生活的方方面面,是人类社会不可缺少的一部分。此外,幽默能使一部文学作品经久不衰、流传百世,同时使读者百读不厌、爱不释手。而幽默大师林语堂所著的《生活的艺术》正是集幽默之大成者,读者欣赏后回味无穷。近年来,国内的大部分学者主要是从其创作的小品文中来研究其包含的幽默语言和幽默思想的,很少有人系统地从其创作的英文著译来探寻其体现的幽默的。因此,本文在借鉴前人研究成果的基础上,主要讨论《生活的艺术》中幽默的译介问题。本文主要分为以下六大章节。第一章介绍了林语堂和《生活的艺术》,并说明了本文的研究价值和研究方法。第二章是文献综述,主要介绍了幽默的起源、演变、内涵和分类等情况。第三章开始讨论《生活的艺术》中幽默的分类,包括语言类幽默、文化类幽默和包含文化因素的语言幽默,即综合类幽默,并列举了大量的实例加以分析。第四章同样结合实例分析译者在传播中国式幽默的过程中所用的特殊翻译方法,即编译、愚译、句译和哲学翻译等,以期探索幽默翻译的新方法。第五章主要从国外大型网站的读者来调查本书中幽默的传达效果的,同时还分析了影响幽默效果传达的几大因素,包括文化差异、读者的职业和受教育程度,以及读者对幽默的敏感度。最后一章是本文的结语,从整体上概括了本文的主要内容,并总结了本文的主要发现和局限性,引起读者的共鸣。
