摘要：哈代在小说创作方面具有高超的创作艺术,并在该领域取得了重要成果,被后人称为“小说界的莎士比亚”。作为哈代的优秀作品之一,《德伯家的苔丝》中使用了大量的隐喻。概念隐喻是人类把自己的经验形成的概念域作为始源域,将其映射到不熟悉的,抽象的事物（目标域）上。因此,概念隐喻基于我们经验中的相互关联。作为一种认知工具,概念隐喻对理解《德伯家的苔丝》独特的艺术魅力不可或缺。概念隐喻理论认为,隐喻不仅限于语言层面,换句话说,不仅限于词汇层面。因此,人类的思维过程在基本上是隐喻性的。《德伯家的苔丝》有众多中译本,其中张谷若译本在中国的接受度最高。通过定性分析的方法,对原文中的概念隐喻进行解读,试图探讨张谷若在中译过程中是否准确实现了原文中概念隐喻的认知功能。研究结果发现:张谷若在处理隐喻翻译时,主要采取归化的翻译策略来处理概念隐喻,基本上再现了原文中概念隐喻的认知功能。因此,基于英文民族文化共通及经验的相似性,如果译者兼顾异化的翻译策略来处理概念隐喻翻译,其认知功能必定会得到补偿。最后,希望本研究能对其他文学小说中概念隐喻翻译的研究有所帮助。
