不过,张小平并不愿意用雷打不动来形容这种坚持,她认为,在家学英语,最大的优势就是灵活。坚持一件事,关键是体现在长久性上,而不是刻板地遵守一些规则。比如有时出去爬山,女儿身体很累,就不一定非要让她完成当天的任务。

这种灵活的态度,既让女儿明白了做成一件事情需要坚持,又培养了她处理事情的灵活性,不至于因为一次没有坚持而否定自己。同时反倒容易让坚持成为一种生活常态,一种真正的习惯。

有一天,张小平拿起嘉琪的英语书一看,每个单词上面都勾勾画画了很多符号。她问女儿这是什么,嘉琪自豪地说:“是我自创的读音升降号啊!”原来,从小学钢琴的嘉琪,对音调的辨别力非常强,她拿出学钢琴时的“辨音”方法来学英语,每学一课都对照复读机跟读,然后一点点地纠正自己的发音。
