论文题目：目的论视角下的中医古籍英译 ——以《黄帝内经》的两个英译本为例

摘要：德国功能主义目的论大胆地摆脱了传统的对等、转换等语言学的翻译理念，从功能和交际的角度来分析和研究翻译。翻译从而被放置在更为宏观的行为理论和跨文化交际的框架中去考量，这给翻译实践和翻译批评带来了一个全新的视角，同时也给予译者极大的灵活度。目的论认为，任何一种翻译行为都是有其目的的，译者必须根据译文的预期目的来决定他所要采用的翻译策略和方法。此理论认为，译文目的享有至高的地位，因此只要能顺利实现译文的预期目的，选择何种翻译方法或策略都有其合理性。 随着中医传统疗法和养生文化的发展，越来越多的国际中医师、养生爱好者、汉学家期望深入理解中医，因此急需高质量的中医译本。中医典籍《黄帝内经》具有丰富的医学、哲学、文学、文献学价值。对中医典籍《黄帝内经》英译本的翻译研究，不仅促进中医临床医疗，而且为中外文化的沟通架起一座桥梁。 本文选取了吴连胜、吴奇父子和罗希文的两种英译本，试图从目的论的角度对这部中国医学经典的两种英译本进行比较和分析，从目的法则、连贯法则和忠实法则三个方面进行客观的评析，进而挖掘出两位译者采取不同的翻译方法和技巧的原因。 通过对所选译例的比较分析，笔者发现：首先，译者为了达到译文目的，分别采取了直译和意译两种不同的翻译方法；其次，考虑到预期读者的文化背景、阅读期望和交际需求，两位译者均采取了有效的补偿措施，如引申、加注等；第三，不同译本被打上了译者自己的烙印，能够反映出不同译者的知识结构、教育经历和思维方式；第四，文化是翻译实践中最难跨越的鸿沟，保留适当的文化距离还是一味地追求文化趋同是摆在译者面前最大的难题；第五，在译文目的顺利实现过程中，语言表达方式极为重要，违反目的语常规会降低译文的可接受性，进而会阻碍译文目的的实现，所以译者要以严谨负责的态度应对语言层面的问题。 最后，作者得出以下结论:第一，目的论为翻译理论开辟了一个崭新的视角，对翻译实践具有极大的指导意义；第二，目的论对比较分析《黄帝内经》的英译本具有切实的有效性和合理性，因为这是一本文化标识性强且成书时间较早的医学经典。鉴于不同译者自身的知识缺陷，在译文的不同层面显露出程度有别的翻译失误是不可避免的，还有待商榷。
