Passage One

As a result of pollution, Lake Erie, on the borders of the USA and Canada, is now without any living things. Pollution in water is not simply a matter of “poisons” killing large numbers of fish overnight. So if we want to stop this pollution, the answer is simple: sewage and industrial waste must be made clear before flowing into the water. 通过期末英语考试，我分析了我所教的两个班(高一七班，八班)两班的英语成绩，两班中英语最高分92分，整体成绩不乐观。但是我发现了一个问题，那就是有部分学生学的知识比较死，不能灵活运用。因此，题目比较灵活时，有一部分成绩就不理想了，但平时有些同学的成绩好像还比较可以;我认为在以后的教学中，我们还得更进一步灵活运用教学方法，对学生进行启发性教育。要多培养学生的灵活解决问题的能力。这样才能适应现代社会的发展需要。特别是才能满足新课程标准的要求。

纵观现代社会教育教学，我们所教每一门学科的目的就是要让这门学科能在现实社会中得到运用。英语是一门语言学科，学好它，其实也并不难。既然是语言，那么我们就得“多说，多念，多听，多写”。要充分利用好我们的“五观”。充分发展我们人类“五观”的各项功能。听是分辨和理解话语的能力，即听并理解口语语言技能含义;说是运用口语表达思想，输出信息的能力;读是辨认和理解书面语言，即辨认文字符号并将文字符号转换为有意义的能力。是运用书面语表达思想，输出信息的能力。听、说、读、写综合语言运用重要基础。虽然听、说、读、写是重要的语言技能，但不可以单纯用听、说、读、写语言技能水平取代课程各个级别的综合语言运用 能力目标。英语教师应该结合情感态度、语言知识、文化意识、学习策略等目标，正确把握和处理课程语言技能各级别目标中听、说、读、写语言技能之间的关系。在教学中要做到：(1)听、说、读、写训练内容和形式尽可能的贴近学生的实际生活，贴近真实的交际行为，贴近有目的(即任务型)的综合运用英语的活动。(2)听、说、读、写的活动，要密切与激发学生的兴趣、自信心、合作精神等情感态度相结合，这才有助于增强他们的文化意识。使他们在语言技能实践的过程逐步形成主动参与、乐于探索、勤于动手的学习态度，学会学习。

1. 每天早上，要多读，要用心读，时间可以是10来分钟。 2. 下午，如果有多余时间，我们应该尽可能的听听磁带。 3. 平时，如果是在空余时间，同学之间可以试着用英语说话。 4. 多看一些课外书籍。了解国外的一些风土人情。 5.课外要抽时间记忆单词，要多记几遍，多看几遍。
