一、活用导学案, 给学生自我构思机会

导学案已成为英语课堂教学的重要辅助工具, 但有些教师似乎认为是一种流行时尚。 殊不知, 一趟有效的课堂教学应该在体现学生学习主体能动性的基础上多给他们自由思考的机会, 让学生在探究中掌握语言表达运用规则, 在实践运用中提高预学能力。

灵活利用导学案, 更能够使得学生从现实实际出发, 有的放矢探学, 让课堂成为自由抒发思想情感的载体。 如, 在学习《 牛津高中英语》 模块六Unit 1 Laughter is good for you的“ Reading B Stand-up for your health” 时, 有位教师围绕健康话题, 要求学生搜集相关的健康长寿的故事, 并围绕“ Which information do you get from them?” 要求他们进行补充, 让学生能够从相应的空白处找出自己想要的东西。 同时, 补充了一些名人对健康的理解和看法, 让学生就“ 饮食与健康”提出自己的意见, 让他们的构思随着文章的表达内容进行有机融合, 给他们更多的拓展延伸机会。

导学案作为教学的载体, 主要功能是帮助学生了解课程学习的重点、难点等, 帮助学生在主动补白探索的过程中积淀丰富知识。 以导学案为圆点, 鼓励学生自由发挥, 跳出学案灵活自如运用, 能使得学生在催生新的生长点的过程中获得深刻感知体验, 让自我构思更有延展力。

任务合作探究使得学生有了更多广阔的空间, 使得他们获得可更多的自由与获得感。 任务的设计应该在体现以问题为导向的原则中, 多给学生自主话语表达权, 让他们在不断交流的过程中展现真实的“ 自我”。 善用任务引导学生主动探学, 能使得他们在互动交流中博采众长, 获得更多语言文化知识。

任务探学, 能使得课堂教学更有目标性和方向感。 如, 有位教师在模块七Unit 1 Living with technology的“ Reading B TV and audio devices:a review”教学中, 设计了五个以上的任务, 一会儿要求学生用同伴交流解决这个任务, 一会儿要求学生又运用小组讨论解决那个任务。 整个课堂学生成了教师算盘中的“ 珠子”, 被随意的拨来拨去。 其实, 该老师只需要布置三个任务, 围绕 “ Do you know about TV and audio de-vices?”“ What did you read from the article?”“ How are you go-ing to use TV and audio devices?” 让学生结合自己的学习能力自由选择和主动交流。 这样的任务探学, 不仅能使得学生不再一头雾水, 而是让他们在主动挑选的过程中不断活化思维感知, 帮助他们增强理解感悟。

善用任务, 让课堂变得更加生动活泼, 让学生有更多参与交流的机会。 作为教师理应根据学生的综合学习运用能力主动制定任务, 让他们能够更加有效地自由探学。 任务引导应该突出多样化和差异性, 让学生有更多的感思体验机会, 帮助他们在交流中有更多的畅言机会。

三、巧设活动助学, 帮学生淋漓尽致发挥

英语的交际性要求师生能在灵活运用中掌握语言表达规则, 使得师生在身临其境的互动中产生运用的激情。 于是乎, 很多教师都在教学中运用实践活动来帮助学生理解, 甚至是一个活动接着一个活动, 让学生无暇顾及自己学习感知, 只能被动模拟, 疲于应付了事。

活动贵在“ 精”, 让学生有足够的空间和时间去尽情发挥。如, 在模块七Unit 3 The world online的“ Reading B The ef-fects of the internet on our lives”阅读指导时, 有位老师围绕“ How much do you know about internet?” 要求学生运用手抄报展示自己搜集的资料, 并通过投影仪展示不同学生的成果, 并引导介绍说明。 在现场的解说中, 有的同学生对未来互联网发展产生了浓厚的兴趣, 并就“ How do we use internet correctly?”进行主题演讲, 让他们能够在活动中一展自己的风采。 教师则对学生的解说予以肯定和认可, 让他们在主动自由展学的过程中获得丰富感思, 提高综合语用技能。

创设的活动应该在体现全面性和发展性的基础上, 多给学生自我构思和探学的机会, 使得活动能集中课程教学主线进行有效发散延伸。 多给学生应在自由、和谐的学习情境氛围, 让学生在带着问题主动思考和带着讨论主动交流中不断积累语言感知, 让他们有更多的展现机会。 多给学生建构展示成果的平台, 让他们能够获得更多的综合运用机会。

如上所言, 英语课堂理应遵循简约原则, 多给学生自由探学的机会, 让他们在丰富认知思维感悟中积极协作和主动沟通, 帮助他们在自觉探知中找到思维灵感。 越是用简单的方式引导学生主动交流, 越能够使得课堂教学更有诱惑力, 越能够提高学生的综合语用技能。

在实际的教学中,我们发现有些学生对于所学对话读得流利、背得熟练,但在实际情景中,却不会用,成了“哑巴英语”。学生已经学得很努力了,那么到底是什么原因呢?纵观我们现在的对话教学,发现有些教师只是围绕书本上的Let’s talk展开,觉得学生会读会背Let’s talk的内容,我们的对话课也就成功了,其实不然。

一、教学内容生活化,让学生畅所欲言

以PEP教材为例,选材于生活,如,有关数字、颜色、时间、天气、仪器、服装、玩具、动植物、身体、个人情况、家庭、学校、朋友、文体活动、节日等话题,贴近学生的生活和学习实际。但从生活到教材是一个“由繁到简,提炼生活”的过程,它透过复杂的生活现象,展现了清晰、简约的文字与图片。

1.活化教材,融于生活

真实的交际涉及与另一个人说话,而不是在我们典型的教科书中所见到的那种纯粹的一问一答的对话。语言的学习最终要落实到实际上,尤其对小学生来说,更有时间、更有意义去进行这样的尝试。

如,在教学PEP7 Unit 4 A Let’s talk?一课,运用What’s your hobby? 询问他人的兴趣爱好,并能用I like ...做出正确回答。引导学生往他们喜欢的词语上说显得更有意义。

2.拓展内容,引申至生活

有的教师在设计课时,一般到“对话操练”这一环节学生能表演书本对话时,便认为完成了教学任务,其实不然,对话的拓展训练更是对话教学的重要组成部分,它是对对话知识运用的一种反映,是对话知识运用的提炼和升华。

如,在学完了PEP4A Unit 2 What’s his job?后,可以和同学朋友之间讨论What do you want be in the feature?谈谈自己将来想要从事的职业, 比如,I want to be a teacher .等。

二、课堂教学生活化,让语言自由飞翔

教师应凭借生活努力创设生动、真实的生活情景,讓学生在自主、合作、探究学习中逐渐形成学习英语的兴趣和爱好,激发他们在动态真实环境中使用英语进行活动的积极性,让学生在真实的生活情景中提高语言综合能力。

1.创设生活情景,习得语言

(1)凭借生活创设生动、真实的语言环境

教学根据课文内容对教室进行适当的布置,为学生营造浓厚的生活化英语氛围。例如,根据教材内容,可以把教室布置成商店、舞会、动物园等不同风格。让学生直接感受party的热闹氛围,在切身感受中学习;而此时的教师,已然成为学生学习的伙伴、生活的导师。

(2)组织符合学生生活经验的活动、游戏

教师要把自己的教育意图隐蔽在友好的、毫无拘束的氛围中。如,在教学“I can ...”的句型时,我将要求掌握的单词和句型编成一首chant:I’m a robot. I can sing. I’m a robot,I can jump ... 一边带学生读,一边让学生模仿机器人的一举一动。学生模仿得津津有味,很快掌握了学习内容。

2.模拟生活情景,实践语言

在对话教学中,模拟生活情景,引导学生在逼真的生活情景中去运用语言学、实践语言,达到学以致用的目的。如,在教学PEP5 Unit 3 What’s your favorite food?单元时,我用一份餐厅菜单为学生创设了一个去餐厅就餐的生活情景,并通过一系列任务,让学生进行语言实践。

三、作业设计生活化,让英语融入生活

一般教师教完对话课后,会布置一些类似读读、背背的作业。然而,有些学生能把课文读得非常流利,甚至倒背如流,可是真正与人对话时,又不知道怎么说。机械的读读、背背并不能真正地提高学生的语言交际能力。教师要拓宽学习和运用英语的渠道,把对话教学延伸到生活中,让学生在生活中完成“作业”,让英语融入生活,在生活中进一步提升语言实践能力。

总而言之,对话教学生活化只是教学的一种方式,而不是教学的目的。生活化的对话教学是在教学中注入生活的内容和时代的“活水”,做到用“生活”来教育,让英语教学生活化,以课堂教学为轴心,向学生生活的各个领域开拓、延展,全方位地把学生的英语学习同他们的实际生活有机地结合起来,从而为学生创造更多语言实践的机会,提高学生的语言运用能力和语言交际能力。

随着英语国际地位的逐渐提升,在中国越来越多的人开始进行英语学习。学校作为培养人才的重要教育基地,是提高英语教学质量的最佳突破口。但是受到“应试教育”思想的制约,相当大一部分教师在教学过程中仍然沿袭着陈旧、落后的教学方式,比如,片面追求学生成绩的高低,忽视了对学生英语应用能力的培养。再比如,要求学生死记硬背单词、语法和句型,却忘了教会学生如何灵活运用……这些都导致学生逐渐失去学习英语的兴趣和热情,自然课堂教学效果也令人大失所望。

针对英语教学现状中存在的这些问题,作为一名初中英语教师,又当采取何种教学方式才能真正保证英语课堂上的教学质量呢?我结合多年的英语教学经验,粗谈几点看法。一家之言,蓼以蔚尔,希望广大的英语教学同仁给予我更多的包涵。

一、对英语教学形成正确的认识,不断转换教学观念

受“应试教育”和传统教学理念的影响,很多英语教师在教学过程中将学生视为“学习的录音机”,在他们的观念里只要将教材知识点在课堂上朗读一遍,学生这个“人体录音机”就会将这些知识点全部都记忆、储存下来。这是多么愚蠢、可笑的想法啊!英语是一门实践性比较强的学科,更着重于培养学生实践运用的能力。如果教师只是在讲台上照本宣科地读教材,然后就要求学生死记硬背,学生理解起来尚且吃力,更别提逐步提高自身的英语实际应用水平和能力了。

教师要想真正改善英语课堂教学情况,我认为最关键的一点就是在教学过程中不断转化自身的教学观念,对英语教学形成正确认识,这是做好英语教学的基础和重要条件。就拿我来说吧,在日常的英语教学过程中,就不会将知识强塞给学生,而是尽量为学生设置一些教学情境,将教材知识点与学生的实际生活相互融合,让学生在实际场景中更好地理解和掌握相关的英语知识。

比如,在学习“What time do you go to school?”这章知识时,我会让学生根据自己平时的作息习惯,在课堂上进行英语口语表演。学生就会说出“What are you doing now?”“I usually get up at six o’clock.”“I often have my lunch at 12:00.”“I often take a shower at 20:30.” 这类的句子。在进行表演的过程中,学生通过回忆自己日常的行为点滴,不但可以将教材知识点与自己的日常生活形成紧密联系,帮助自己加深对句型和语法的理解和掌握,更重要的是,通过口语表演,学生更加敢于开口“show”英语,英语口语水平和实践运用能力也在很大程度上得到了培养和提高。

素质教育观点要求教师不能只盯着学生考试分数的高低,而应该将教学重心不断转移到“提高学生的英语实际应用能力”上来。因此,作为一名初中英语教师,我们必须不断转换自身的教学观念,努力对英语教学形成正确的认识。

二、采用多种教学方法,充分激发学生学习英语的兴趣

所谓“知之者不如好之者,好之者不如乐之者。”兴趣是促使学生对所学科目产生好奇心和求知欲望的内在驱动力,是激发学生不断进行知识学习的关键因素所在。作为一名初中英语教师,应当在教学过程中采用多种教学方法,力求最大限度上激发学生学习英语知识的兴趣和积极性。

随着信息技术的迅速发展,多媒体技术被广泛地运用到课堂教学活动中,这无疑为英语教学提供了有力的教学条件。多媒体教学有着一系列的特点和优势:它可以把声音、文字、图片等有效结合,并且以最直观、最生动的形式展现在学生眼前,对于激发学生的兴趣有很大的帮助。我在平时的教学中,就非常重视多媒体在课堂上的灵活运用。例如,在学习“When is your birthday?”这章知识时,我利用多媒体让学生观看了一段有关“生日party”的视频短片。其他教师在进行教学时,很少注意运用多媒体,因此,当我说出让学生观看视频的安排时,学生立马就开始欢呼雀跃起来,学习兴趣和积极性也被瞬间激发。短片中包含大量与“birthday”相关的英语词汇、短语或者句子,这就促使学生在观看短片的过程中充分发挥主观能动性,对其进行有效记忆。同时,又在一定程度上提高了学生的英语听力和口语表达能力,为学生逐渐提高英语水平奠定了良好基础。

“教无定法”,激发学生学习兴趣的方法和途径着实有很多,我在这里提出仅仅提出一点,还需要各位教师进行不断的探索和补充,为促进英语教育事业的发展不断贡献自己的力量。

三、为学生营造和谐、融洽的课堂氛围,促使学生积极参与到课堂教学活动中

新课改对于“课堂教学氛围”做出了如下明确指示——“关注学生的情感,营造宽松、民主、和谐的教学氛围。”研究表明,和谐、融洽的课堂氛围可以在很大程度上减轻学生学习的心理负担,促使学生在良好的课堂环境下充分调动学习的兴趣和热情,积极参与到课堂教学活动中;相反,枯燥无味的课堂氛围则会在很大程度上限制学生的想象力和创造力,导致学生逐渐失去对英语学习的兴趣和热情,学习效果自然也就好不到哪儿去。因此,作为教师,我们应当对于课堂教学氛围给予足够的关注和重视,力求为学生营造和谐、融洽、积极向上的课堂教学氛围,为实现高效英语课堂打下坚实的基础。

课堂教学实质上是师生之间、生生之间互相交流想法和情感的重要途径,我对此有着充分的认识,并将此思想不断运用到自身的教学实践中。“I’m going to be a basketball player.”这部分知识旨在让学生运用英语表达自己未来的理想和职业规划,因此,我就在课堂上有效“放手”,让学生在课堂上自由分组向其他小组成员描述自己的职业梦想。学生立马就投入到讨论中,学生的主体地位得到充分尊重和重视,课堂气氛也变得活跃而融洽起来,这些都促使学生积极讨论,进一步融入我所安排的课堂活动中。有了学生的积极参与,还愁没有良好的课堂教学效果吗?

前面已经说过“教无定法”,对于改善英语教学状况,促进学生英语水平的进步与发展有很多的途径和手段,文章提到的几点只是基于我个人自身的教学实践经历浅谈的几点看法。同时,“教学贵在得法”,这就要求英语教师应想方设法对自身的教学方法和教学模式进行钻研和反思,逐渐将更多、更优秀的教育教学手段运用到自己的教学活动中。我相信这样的话,一定能全面提高英语教学的质量和效果,促使英语教育事业的更好发展。
