阿诺尔德·范热内普 (Arnold Van Gennep) 使用“阈限”这一名词将仪式模型化研究, 所谓阈限就是“从正常状态下的社会行为模式之中分离出来的一段时间和空间”, 因此, 阈限既是过程也是状态。凉山彝人对于火把节, 也有过渡仪式的痕迹。彝族过火把节, 按理来讲家里的每个人都得参加。如果由于一些特别的特殊的原因, 没有办法回家与家人一起过火把节, 错过了火把节, 怎么办呢?有两种办法:

第一种, 在自己所在的地方与当地亲戚朋友一起过一个火把节, 参加了当地的火把节也就不算错过火把节了。第二种, 如果自己所在的地方, 没有亲戚朋友, 无法参加他们的火把节, 或者是当地不过火把节, 那么家里面父母也有办法解决这种情况的。父母会把过火把节时准备的食物, 比如, 鸡肉、猪肉等象征性地拿一点点腌制好并保存下来, 等在外的人回家后给他品尝, 就算是不小心, 没保存好, 孩子回来的时候肉已经坏了, 也要象征性地尝一下, 这样就表示过了火把节了。如果没有过火把节, 发生了一些不顺的事, 不快的事或者是身体上出点小毛病啊生病什么的, 那么发生的这一切就会被认为是活该。只有过了火把节, 这一年才得以平安。

很明显的, 离家在外工作的人, 得想办法从他所处的工作环境中分离出来, 回家过那三天的火把节, 谁也不敢去试没有过火把节有什么样的后果发生。火把节三天时间里是不能下地耕作的, 火把节在这里明显地具有通过仪式的作用, 只有通过这个仪式才能寻求到心灵的归宿与认同。

二、火把节选日子的内部涵义

凉山彝族有关火把节的古谚语说:“猪月朔九夜, 日子不用选”。其意思是说, 每年的猪月也就是农历的六月, 朔九夜就是初十五后的第九个晚上, 这一天的日子是最好的, 不管属什么都可以过火把节。据介绍, 普格县乡村中火把节较热闹的中心——日都地迪撒一带所选的日子, 是在农历六月二十四日前后那个属“龙”的日子。据说这是一个非常吉祥的日子, 龙日路卧饱龙, 年底会有一个丰收饱肚子的好日子。

过火把节的日子, 凉山彝族自治州官方定的是农历的六月二十四日。但民间并不按照官方的要求去过, 凉山几个方言区的人所过火把节的日子都不一样。

凉山民间每年举行火把节的日子具体在某一天, 这是没有固定的。每年当地人发现地里面有荞麦粒变黑的时候, 就会请来这个地区最有威望的毕摩或者会择算的德古占卜择算吉日, 看哪一天开始过火把节是最好的。“仪式是关于重大性事务的形态, 而不是人类社会劳动的平常形态”。火把节整个节日本身就是一个大型的仪式, 这选日子的事情当然不能马虎。

仪式是具有强烈的目的性的, “仪式行为本身就是其目的”。通过祭祀仪式行为的表演来帮助实现现实生活中人们所办不到的、无法取得的结果。从逻辑上说, 仪式行为是建立在一种信仰之上的。火把节的目的, 在前文所述的祭祀祖先、点火把仪式和送火把仪式中所念的祈语以可以得知实为达到“风调雨顺, 五谷丰登, 六畜兴旺, 人丁安康, 驱邪避寒”等这些目的。对于山地耕作的彝族人来讲, 这一切都是关乎着这一年能否过上好日子, 所以谁也不敢马虎。选日子得慎重, 山地气候, 每个地方物候条件是不一样的, 正所谓“一山有四季, 十里不同天”, 根据“有荞籽粒已变黑”的物候现象来择选火把节这个祈愿的日子, 每个地方当然就不一样了。行政的手段帮规定不了火把节举行的日子, 因为人们不愿意去冒那个风险去在当地不合适的日子里举行, 如果在政府规定的日子里过火把节, 恰巧这一年遇着不顺的话, 没人给他们买单。对于山地农耕民族来讲, 没有什么比六畜兴旺, 人丁安康, 庄稼丰收更重要的了, 这关系到他们的生计。四川彝族“依诺”地区不过火把节, 古代本来是要过的, 传说有一年火把节期间下了一场红雪, 庄稼颗粒无收, 大家都认为这是因为火把节的原因, 故“依诺”地区以后不再举行火把节。

三、神圣与世俗二元对立的调和

涂尔干在《宗教生活的基本形式》一书中认为, 宗教可以分解为两个基本范畴:信仰和仪式。仪式属于信仰的物质形式和行为模式, 信仰则属于主张和见解。他还认为, 世界划分为两大领域, 一个是神圣的, 另一个则是世俗的。彝族是一个十分崇尚祖灵信仰的民族, 对祖先灵魂抱有坚定的确信感和深刻的尊敬感。在彝人的宗教信仰世界中, 祖灵具有超自然的力量和权能, 它们关注着后代的事务, 能从多方面影响、操纵现世生活。凉山彝族人常常把吉祥福禄的获得视为祖灵的仁慈与关爱, 把灾难和不幸的降临看作是祖灵惩罚所致。在心理上, 凉山彝人对祖灵是一种崇敬、仰赖、敬畏的心理。在凉山, 无论大凡小事, 祭祀祖先是必须做的一件事情, 祭祖先时如果家里某人不在无法参加, 那么得把一件他平时穿过的衣服放在仪式现场以代表他。

祭祀祖先是非常重要的, 火把节第一天, 如果去亲戚家窜门去了, 无论如何都得回家把祭祀仪式做了。祭祀完成后, 祭品都是分食了的。如果有客人在, 上供的祭品必须是主人家先吃了, 客人才能吃。彝人的待客之道平时都是先让客人吃饱了主人才再吃, 只有这火把节的祭品必须得主人家先吃。但彝人是好客的, 主人家并不会吃多少, 只是象征性地先吃一点点, 然后给客人吃。主人家每个人都得分食献祭过后的肉, 还不能吃东西的小娃娃, 大人就撕一点点肉在小孩的嘴上抹一下, 算是小娃娃吃过了。

在整个祭祖仪式中用于祭祀的牺牲是与祖灵交往的媒介, 通过献祭, 祭品的分食, 用牺牲从祖灵那里换得庇佑达到神圣与世俗的交融。

四、结语

凉山彝人认为通过火把节, 祭祀了祖先与各方神灵, 通过了这个仪式, 可以求得来年人丁平安, 五谷丰登得到心理上的安慰。火把节中蕴含着丰富的彝族传统宗教与文化, 值得继续探讨。

摘要:彝族是生活在仪式中的民族, 火把节是凉山彝族的一个重要的节日, 它无处不有着彝族人的宗教信仰的烙印。火把节在凉山彝语中称为“都则”即“祭火”的意思, 从这节日的名称上就让人感受到了浓浓的宗教气息。
