这两次试题都符合《考试大纲》和《基本要求》的精神,以“应用为主,够用为度”;都是应用文,考查的是考生在涉外的日常交际和业务活动中用英语进行简单交流的应用能力。虽然两次试题涉及的有些不同:1)应用文体不同——前者是写信后者是电子邮件;2)格式不同——前者是书信格式后者是电子邮件格式;3)要求不同——前者要求考生自己写出书信的格式,后者已给出E-mail的格式,但它们有一个最大的共同点,即主要内容相同。请看下表之比较。

1)认真学习和研究《考试大纲》和《基本要求》,体会《考试大纲》和《基本要求》的精神,使教、学、考更有针对性和有效性,以做到“以应用为主,够用为度”,使很多基础欠佳的学生愿学、乐学,学有所得。跳一跳、伸伸手,可以达到目标。

2)系统掌握各种常见应用文的格式、句型和用词特点,背诵范文。应用文最突出的特点就是其格式,不同的应用文有不同的文体格式特点,如果不掌握牢记就容易混淆或弄错。而且现在考试对考生的要求也越来越高,从给出格式到要求考生记住格式,不记住格式就容易丢分。阅读与写作密不可分,范文会为写作带来大量有益的东西,学到流畅、地道的表达,减少汉式英语的发生。

3)注重对各种应用文体的书写、套写练习。PRETCO-B写作“测试考生套写应用性短文、填写英文表格或翻译简短的实用性文字的能力”,对学生的要求并不高。因此,加强对各种应用文体的书写、套写练习,有助于学生掌握各种应用文体的写作。只有对各种应用文体的文体特点、应用格式、表达习惯烂熟于心、了然于胸,才能在有限的时间内快速写出符合要求、表达地道的作文。
