21世纪杯演讲稿

Distinguished Judges, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good afernoon.

Today, I’m very honord to stand here to give you a speech and share my idea about 90s with you.

There is a saying goes that “90s Generation is the Net Generation”as 90s are growing up with the fast development of Internet and could be the first experiencers in the information era. Some people even hold that 90s can’t live without network.

To some extend, I agree that Net plays a very important role in most of 90s’ life. It makes life convinient. You can buy almost anything you want and you needn’t go to the supermaket, mall or some places else by online shopping. You can collect a lot of information from the Internet and you needn’t go to the library to borrow the book you want which is hard to find. You can enjoy woderful music and movies you like and needn’t buy a ticket that will cost amounts of money.

But Internet is only a part of 90s’ life, let alone those who live in undeveloped regions. They actually don’t get any chance to have access to the net. I think computer and network is just a tool for us 90s to learn kownledge and to communicate with others. For example, one of my dear friend LiMing, who is really a so-called “Net Generation”. He always buys a lot of things online, such as his hats, bags and even some presents he want to send to his mother. He usually finishes his homework by seaching the information on the Internet. He constantly downloads the music he likes, especaily the songs aresinged by Super Gilrs or Happy Boys. Computer and Internet is tool for him and colourfuled his life .

As a member of 90s, I kown there are so many misunderstandings to 90s. And I know the community is no lack of criticism to the 90s. Nowadays, a lot of people think 90s Generation is a negative generation for 90s are addicted to network, unable to stand a setback, selfish and conceited. However, as far as I am concerned, I inclined to believe that 90s is a promising generation. Though our 90s are not perfect, we need a priod to grow up. As we all know, most of 90s are only child in our family. The majority of us are underage in current, 90s’thought are different from other people. Doesn’t every successful adults grow up from a naive child? So please don’t laugh at us for our mistakes and being naive. What we need is just more concerns and guidances. Please don’t call us the Net Generation, just call us the Growing Generation .

Thank you, thanks for your listening.

第二篇:21世纪杯即兴演讲集

Topic 1 :Does money equal success?

Ok , ladies and gentlemen , here I’ve got a question for you. What is success?Well, I don’t know. But obviously, the professor hold a simple outlook—money equals success. Here I don’t want to argue whether it is right or wrong. Because we will never come to an agreement on this question. But one thing for sure is that except for money, our self-content and our feelings of realizing our life value will bring us tremendous happiness. Visiting our parents often , sparing some time to date our boyfriend or girlfriend while we are drowned by endless work, having an excursion to explore the world again, Of cause, having an affair is not included .These tiny changes really make us happy, like walking on the cloud, ha? So, why don’t we change the perspective to measure success just in terms of money? No more money-oriented, but stress equal importance of money and living our life happily.

Some of you may be thinking that: little pumpkin, you just talk big , you never know what the world really look like. The road we have trudged is much more than the salt you have eaten. Chinglish expression, you know what I mean, right? But I do learn this from my personal experience.

My grandmother used to be a cook in a small local restaurant . During that time, she was very busy, but her salaries really disappointed me. ―granny , why don’t you just quit this job, what you have gained from this job is really disproportional with what you have done‖ I asked her. ―Well, I don’t think so. You know, when I was cooking for you, I was extremely happy. Thinking that you gradually grow up, being a young lady as you always wanted to be. I cannot help you that much through that way, look at me, I am only a cook. But I can promise you that every dishes you enjoyed is full of tender love. The same goes to others, I hope that everyone who eat here could leave with joy‖, my granny’s answer exactly suggest that the highest reward from work is not only about the money, but also the process of making others happy. Absolutely as a cook and granny, she was a huge success, although she earn less. Now my granny has gone, but her spirits live on. In the pursuit of happiness, I never walk alone!

Now, what about those millionaires? They are rich, they have many choices, they have high expectations in life. Three strikes against them, fact is that it’s very difficult to elevate their happiness index. Let me give you an example. Suppose that you were a millionaire, now you want to buy a piece of evening dress to attend a celebrity party. Your favorite is Chanel, which will undoubtedly make you in the spotlight. But your advisor suggest you to choose Lanvin because it will be unique since everyone’s prior choice is Chanel. Meanwhile your friends prefer that you wear Armani to become the queen of that party. Which one is the best? It should be quite simple that you attend that party, meet your friends and have fun. Now it’s much more complicated. You suffer choice anxiety which deprive your happiness index over and over again. You are rich, you can buy anything you want, you have millions options, but the

thing is that you just can’t make your final decision. Because the purpose of attending the party has changed. You lost in the vanity fair, you want to shine, you desire never dies , you become a person who is hard to satisfy. Eventually, your bank account continue to boom, however your soul bank is likely to go bankrupt. Not a single thing can make you happy or satisfied in life. Can we call these guys successful people? Can we say money equal success?

Ladies and gentlemen, what do you think? My point of view is that whether we are rich or not, William Faulkner told us : life goes on. A millionaire may buy a Ferrari when he was in deep blue. Then what about a proletarian like me? We just get hangover. But the two have the same effect. Yes, life goes on! Most importantly, be yourself, then you will be invincible. It’s not about success. It’s not about money. It’s all about you and me.

Thank you very much.

Topic 2: Need for speed drives change

First, I’d like to talk about Andy Groove’s book Only the Paranoid Survive. I was deeply impressed by his thought of 10X change. For Intel, the world’s largest semiconductor chip maker, the speeding up of innovation really matters a lot. Andy Groove focused on the importance of leader’s forward-looking strategy and strong instincts of speeding up information revolution. And that’s exactly what the tech nerds do in the biggest dreamworks –Silicon Valley. It seems that if we don’t drive as fast as we can today, we die tomorrow. So I’ve just heard that some of these nerds who radically change the world don’t date anybody, they don’t have a regular sexual behavior . Why? I guess they are just on the go with full speed to reshape the whole society, no time for those stupid thing. Or as Dr. Sheldon Copper said: It’s just impulse.

Recently, blind date TV shows spread fast and wide. It really provide some left ladies and gentlemen a precious opportunity to search for their soul mate.

What I talked above are not isolated cases, it’s not all about those CEOs CFOs. We college students also follow suit. Take me as an example, I always get suffocated in endless assignments and social activities. I eat quickly, I walk fast, my friends even told me I can defecate in less than one minute. I could read 20 books in 30 days last semester. But after that, I didn’t get it. I’ve no idea what the author are trying to tell us. The only achievement for me is that I’ve added another book in my shit list .Why is that? Obviously, I drive too fast to taste the beauties in book and in life. I realized how long I’ve lost in the ocean of vanity. I tried to be a fast in everything, I force myself to keep busy, still, I feel lonely, empty in my deep soul.

Title: Diversity creates beauty

Culture is the essence of a nation’s strength, so how to develop our culture and treat oversea culture is an important issue. There are different thinking and actions in the world. Some nations reject foreign culture. Meanwhile, there are some nations imitate others. Of course, there are countries keep the good traditional culture as a basic and then adopt others’ strengths, such as China, Japan. I hold the idea that we should make cultural diversity become mainstream in the future world and avoid cultural integration at the same time.

To date, how to develop its own culture has never been stopped thinking. Every nation has its own assumption, action and reform. Keep cultural diversity is successful and effective. Cite China, Tang Dynasty enjoys its own booming economy and colorful culture. Search for its origin and we are easy to find that Tang Dynasty learn oversea advanced culture at the basic of its own accessible culture. As for our present China, the strength is obviously clear. Once we take up “reform and open” policy, the situation and status in international society change greatly. Our life standard of course has been raised sharply. Keep cultural diversity contributes much to the development of China. Qing Dynasty made the strength of China fall behind advanced countries for several tens years. There is no wonder for it to experience this result if you have understood something of Chinese history. In Qing Dynasty, its emperor operated cultural tyrancy(文化专制主义). That is to say, it stuck to cultural integration inside of our country.

After hearing the above examples, you may say that culture seems to have nothing to do with economy and how you can prove diversity creates beauty and cultural integration blocks development. Maybe you are right, but don’t forget that culture is soul and spirit for a nation. It provides direction and dynamic power for its people to create bright future. As an old saying puts, “Idea comes before action.”

In this paragraph, I want to analyse the inner connection between cultural diversity and how it work wonder-beauty. First, personality distinguishes our special individual and makes our world colorful. It’s the same to cultural diversity. Lack of diversity, vibrant society would disappear. Second, everything has more than one angle. One person cannot find all angles and research all of them successful. In the multicultural society, we can learn others’ fruit and others learn our extra gains. This can enrich our culture and make it constant and effective development.

For culture development in China, I think we should keep our root-fine traditional culture and we should also adopt others’ strength points. Go on constant reform of culture to make sure that it adapts to present situation and can ensure the constant development of our nation.

I wish what I’m speaking can count a little.

演讲稿:What would you do if you had only one day left to live?

“What would you do if you had only one day left to live?”

I asked this question to my young students when teaching English this winter. What were their answers?

“I would watch television!” the first answer. “I would play with the computer!” the second one. “I would play with computer TOO.” The girl finished her sentence perfectly with a serious smile. Indeed how cute and innocent that smile was, but how seriously my heart was hurt. I was too frightened to listen to more answers like that.

Ten years ago, at their age, I had a different answer: I would spend the last day of my life gazing at the face of my dear grandmother until I inscribed every detail of it onto my mind.

When grandmother was getting old and weak, my family bought her a telephone so I could save time and the trouble of traveling to her home by making phone calls instead. Later we bought her a television so she could watch modern dramas by herself. Then grandma must have been, we assumed, very contented and happy.

But I never really knew how grandma felt. She silently passed away without a word one night. When I heard about her death, a chilling pain pierced my empty heart. The pain grew even sharper as I tried to remember in detail exactly how grandma looked and I failed completely! How could I remember? I had not visited her for ages—it seemed like a century! My memories of her dissolved into thin air and leaked away like water.

Even though I have a telephone, can she hear me now?

Even though I might be on television, can she see me now?

Even though I have modern telecommunications, can she still communicate with me now?

With all these “tele”s, I was powerless.

Don’t people just love the word of “tele”, which means far away. Indeed this is how modern technology has changed our world. But please don’t forget this other word with “tele”: telepathy:which refers to human beings’ inborn ability to

connect to our loved ones. Our minds are supposed to read each other’s minds; our hearts are supposed to feel each other’s hearts — and fulfill these without any forms of tool!

But the moment I desperately struggled to remember grandmother’s face, the telepathy between her and me had shut down forever. With the help of modern technology, I killed our telepathy.

This shall never happen again! The “tele”s are great inventions. But “telepathy” gives them the warmth of a human face. Let’s harness the power of television to excite our kids to develop their telepathy with nature„ so that they can read the secret language of flowers. Let’s make the telephone lines provoke us to preserve our telepathy with each other, so we can connect in a warm and feeling way. Let technology keep our “telepathy” ALIVE! We need to wake up and make this happen.

I told my grandma’s story to those young kids that day. They got very quiet. They asked me for a second chance to answer the question. They had come to a new understanding – that very moment they had made to me and to our future together, a dear promise.

Thank you very much!
