前言

初三的复习阶段是非常紧张的,需要教师保证教学效果,提升学生学习效率,提升班级层次化写作综合能力;尤其是针对于初三英语升学考试的写作指导,就更要按照中考作文要求,培养学生准确应用语法、词汇;使用句型词汇等明确表达自己意思的能力,进行针对性的指导,从而更好的保证应试教育指导的效果。

一、文章的组织

其主要体现在观念叙述的次序,语句之间的逻辑关系、过渡句的合理应用等,从而更好的突出文章主体,保证行文的流畅性,提高文章的整体档次。对此教师的可以利用典型的范文,像“交通问题”;指导学生第一段开头两句中主题句“With more and more cars coming into our families,we are happy that it has greatly improved our life”点名全文的作用,以及扩展句“But unluckily,it has also brought many problems,such as heavy traffi c and traffi c accidents”进一步说明和支持主题的作用,采取范文教学的方式,可以有效的引导学生明确主题句、扩展句的合理应用;最后以该种方法引导学生正确理解正文、结尾段落的合理写作。

二、句子的结构

大部分中考写作的篇幅都是10句,主要为简单句和复合句,对此教师可以以十句作文法进行学习写作训练;其主要模式如图1所示;

最后让学生根据此种写作方法围绕指定的写作主题进行写作训练。

三、意义的表达

主要包括用词妥当,以及句型的正确把握等。对此教师可以指导学生,当某个意思可以用多个句型进行表达时,可以选择自己最后把握、最为熟悉的进行使用,例如“我们必须遵守规则”学生可以写成“We must abide by the rules”、“We must obey the rules”、“We have to follow the rules”等都是可以的。

四、词的正确使用

学生在日常的英语写作中,常常会出现动词形式的错误,为了避免学生出现此类问题,就需要加强学生英语写作中词性、句型的正确使用、表达等,首先学生要掌握基本的语句结构,包括S+V、S+V+P、S+V+O、S+V+O1+O2、S+V+O+C五种基本语句结构,然后让学生根据这五种基本的语句结构,进行陈述句、疑问句、感叹句、被动语态等日常生活的交际要求训练,例如“We eat”、“He was a tall thin man”、“I have bought some flowers for you”、“Mr Zhang taught us English”、“He could make his lessons lively and interesting”等。

五、内容的完整性

英语作文写作要根据供料作文的内容点进行详细描述,一旦漏掉某点都是要扣分的;且当知识点较多时,虽然都要估计到知识点,但是尽量不要所有知识点都全面概述,此时可以围绕主体,合理的进行描述。例如,以“保护环境”写作题材进行写作时,要求围绕3-4个方面进行80字左右的阐述,此时学生要根据提示展开合理的写作,其可以围绕“Water is polluted”、“Many trees are cutting down”、“People's health has been greatly affected by air,noise and water pollution”、“reduces pollution”等关键点进行概述,既不丢内容提示点,同时也做到了面面俱到,突出文章出题,保证了内容的完整性。

六、总结

综上所述,通过对于的分析,发现要想保证更好的写作成绩,就需要教师从文章组织、句子结构、意义表达、词的正确使用以及内容完整性几个角度进行针对性的指导,最后通过有效的指导训练,让学生更加熟练的掌握作文写作技巧,从而更好的达到复习的目的。

Abstract:This paper studied the backwash effect of college English final oral examination with descriptive research method. Data randomly collected from 70 college English learners through questionnaires showed that college English final oral examination brought strong backwash on the studying attitudes towards English, but weak backwash on the studying contents and methods, and although most of students and teachers thought that college English final oral examination is helpful to improve the students' spoken English, the current English teaching contents and forms are not suited for improving spoken English. It also advanced some suggestions to promote its positive washback in future practice.

反拨作用是语言测试社会效果质量标准的一个重要方面[1],它是语言测试对教与学所产生的影响,有正面的、也有负面的[2]。口语测试是语言测试的一个组成部分,它不仅可以衡量一个人的某种语言水平,同时也能检测教师的教学效果。《大学英语课程教学要求》(2007)(以下简称《课程要求》)指出:“大学英语的教学目标是培养学生的英语综合能力,特别是听说能力。”还提到“无论采用何种形式,都要充分考核学生实际使用语言进行交际的能力,尤其是听说能力”[3]。对非英语专业学生进行英语口语测试符合《课程要求》的基本精神,对全面提高大学英语教学质量,特别是提高学生英语口语交际能力非常必要。

大学非英语专业英语口语测试在我国的发展已有20多年的历史,目前国内学者对英语口试从不同方面做了很多研究,主要涉及口语测试手段、测试方法、评分方法、评分信度、任务复杂度与难度以及非面试口语效度[4-12];大学非英语专业英语口语测试设计、大学英语口语测试对大学英语教学的影响、大学英语口语测试的必要性、大规模英语口语测试、测试任务的效度研究、测试的命题、诊断性测试、测试模式、测试研究的热点、测试程序及评分系统测试体系设计、英语测试与英语口语的关系、英语测试现状及分析[13-27];大学英语口语考试对英语教学的反拨作用[28-30]。可以看出,关于口语考试对英语学习的反拨作用大都集中在CET等大规模考试中。期末考试虽然不像其它大规模测试那样直接影响考生的命运,但它在一定程度上影响着学生的生活和学习,影响着学生能否获得奖学金和是否重修甚至退学,甚至直接影响着学习动机和学习兴趣,所以研究大学英语期末测试也是必要的。近些年也有一些关于非英语专业英语期末口语考试的反拨作用的研究[31-34],但运用实证方法对其进行探讨的研究并不多见。本文研究的问题是非英语专业大学英语期末口语考试的反拨作用如何?

研究方法

1.1研究对象

本研究采取随机抽样抽取某高校非英语专业学生共70名,其中男生30名,女生40名,发放问卷70份,回收67份,有效问卷61份。抽取该校英语教师14名,发放问卷14份,有效问卷14份。

1.2研究工具

本研究使用的测量工具有学生问卷、教师问卷。学生问卷由30个问题组成,2个开放式、28个封闭式。教师问卷由26个问题组成,2个开放式、24个封闭式。问题涉及大学英语期末口语考试对大学英语学习者在大学英语学习态度、学习内容和学习方法的影响。

1.3数据收集和处理

根据唐耀彩,彭金定(2004)的问卷,在试用的基础上,对问卷进行修改和优化,形成现有的问卷。本研究的所有数据在2013年6月底前收集完毕,然后对数据进行处理。问卷收回后编号,并输入电脑用SPSS统计软件进行处理。

结果与讨论

2.1学生对英语口语学习的态度

从表1看出大部分学生认为口语是他们最重视也是工作后使用频率可能最高的技能,学生最难提高和最急于提高的是听力,这和老师的看法完全一致。说明学生和老师都认识到听说的重要性。这也说明全面提高大学英语教学质量,尤其是提高学生英语听说是符合学生和社会要求的。

表2中近一半的同学对英语口语感兴趣,但大多数同学认为学好口语是一种负担,近1/3的同学认为学好口语有助于找好工作,近一半的同学认为有必要举办期末口语考试。虽然大部分同学对英语口语学习和考试很认同,但学好口语对于非英语专业的学生来讲不易。这更要求英语教师改善英语口语教学方法,进行有效的英语口语教学,增强学生学好英语口语的信心。

表3中1-2项为教师问卷,3-8项为学生问卷。大部分教师经常要求学生课外进行英语口语学习并参加英语口语活动,但大部分同学均没有进行课外英语口语学习或参加课外的英语口语活动,只有少数同学坚持利用各种方式练习和提高口语。教师要求和学生实际情况有所脱节,教师要加强对学生口语的检查力度,同时学生要想提高口语,要加强自身的主动性,主动利用各种资源和方法进行口语练习。可以得出大学英语期末口语考试影响学生的学习内容和学习方法但只产生了弱反拨作用。

表4是英语期末口语考试是否能帮助提高英语水平,大部分的学生和老师都认为英语期末口语考试能帮助学生提高英语水平。这也说明加强大学英语期末口试的必要性。

表5显示出大部分同学认为在大学英语基础阶段有必要开设口语课,而且有必要在学期末进行考试。大部分同学认为进行期末口语测试是必要的,因为参加口语考试在一定程度上可以提高自身的素质,这一看法与老师的看法完全一致,可以得出英语期末口语考试对学生的英语学习态度产生了强的反拨作用。大学基础阶段(大一、大二)学生的基础课相对较多,专业课较少,有足够时间进行口语学习和练习,但是现阶段我国很少有高校在基础阶段专门开设大学英语口语课程,开设的听说课程大都针对大学英语四、六级考试。要提高学生的英语综合水平、听说能力甚至整体素质教育水平,加强基础阶段的英语听说教学势在必行,这与《课程要求》相一致。

2.4英语期末口语考试对英语口语教学的影响

表6显示出大部分的学生和老师认为英语期末口试能促进口语教学,而且教师的教学方式和对口试的认识对口语教学有很大的影响。这要求广大英语教师一方面要加强口试的规范化,使口试对英语口语教学起到正反拨效应,另一方面教师要加强对英语口语尤其是英语口试知识的学习,完善教学方法,提高英语口语教学水平。但也看到大多数老师和同学认为目前的英语教学内容和形式不利于提高英语口语。目前该校使用《新版综合教程》和《新视野视听说》两套教材,由于学生大多备考大英四、六级考试,课程内容还是以读写为主,虽加强听力教学,但学生和老师对口语教学重视程度不够。要提高英语口语,就要继续加强英语课程设置改革,使其符合学生的需要。

主观题中,所调查的学生中,43人对我校口语教学提出了建议和意见,他们的建议包括引进外教教授口语课,开设英语角活动,建立口语交流和应用的网站,开设英语口语课程,教师在课堂上给学生更多练习口语的机会。39名学生对英语期末口试提出了看法。他们提出口语考试形式要学生自己选择,不设定口试范围,学生可自由选题,口试前老师给出几个话题让学生准备,口试成绩计入总分的比例适当,考题要偏实际应用。而所调查的所有老师均回答了以上两个问题,老师建议开设口语课程,增加英语听说的课时量,加大口语考试占总成绩的比重。从以上可以看出,期末口试对学生的学习态度产生了强的反拨作用。

以上结果显示,大学英语期末口语考试对学生大学英语学习的态度方面产生了强的反拨作用,而对学习内容和学习方法却只产生了弱的反拨作用。

造成英语期末口试对学习态度产生强的反拨作用的原因可能为:第一,当今就业竞争压力大,而良好的外语口语交际能力是找到好工作的基本能力之一。第二,口语考试影响学生的英语成绩甚至综合成绩测评,英语口试能逼迫学生加强口语的练习和提高。而造成英语期末口试学习方法产生弱的反拨作用的原因可能有:第一,现在国内的英语考试如大学英语四、六级考试重点考查学生的读写译等笔试能力,对口头表达考察较少。这就意味着大学英语教师和学生就会在阅读等其它方面多下工夫,而在口语上少下工夫,虽然大学英语四、六级有口试,但只有少数达到一定要求的学生才能考试。第二,口语考试不是独立的一门课程,占英语总成绩的比重较小。第三,校内目前英语口语课程和活动欠缺,学生缺少相应的学习、练习和提高口语的机会。

要促使大学英语期末口语考试产生正反拨作用,需加强大学英语口语教学,规范大学英语期末口试,提高口试在英语总成绩中的比重,增开英语口语相关课程,加强开展英语口语活动,引导学生多参加校内外各类英语口语比赛,使学生有更多机会练习口语。目前该校开设《英语实用口语》选修课,将英语口语成绩计入学期英语总成绩的举措(占总评成绩的10%),不仅对老师英语口语教学有帮助,而且可以激发学生提高英语口语水平的积极性,从而真正达到《课程要求》的目标,使学生有日常交际的口语能力。

结语

本研究对非英语专业大学英语期末口语考试反拨作用进行了分析,结果发现:

1)大多数同学对英语口语很感兴趣,认为也是找到好工作需要掌握的基本技能,但是学好口语是一种负担;2)教师要求学生课外加强口语练习,但是只有少数学生课下坚持英语口语活动,教师要求和学生实际情况有所脱节;3)英语期末口语考试使学生对大学英语学习的态度产生了强的反拨作用,但对大学英语学习内容和学习方法只产生了弱的反拨作用;4)大多数老师和同学认为期末口语考试能促进学生口语水平和素质教育,但认为目前的英语教学内容和形式不利于提高英语口语。

本研究的启示:1)教师要加强学生的课外英语口语学习检查力度,建立评价机制,督促学生自主学习提高英语口语水平;2)加强英语期末口语考试考查力度,提高英语口试的比重,促进英语口试考对英语口语教学的正反拨;3)改善英语口语教学,开设英语口语课程或增加英语听说课时量,营造英语口语学习氛围。

本研究的限制:本研究受样本和研究工具的限制,尽管样本是通过随机抽样,但样本较少,会对研究结果产生影响,以后可以扩大样本加强口语考试反拨作用的检验;本研究对英语期末口语考试的反拨作用进行了探讨,但口语反拨不仅体现在学习者身上,一方面可以对不同任务难度、不同形式的任务的反拨作用进行研究,另一方面对大学英语教师、高校管理层、教材编写人员、家长以及用工单位人员等通过访谈、问卷等对口语反拨作用进一步研究。
