Recent fifty years has witnessed incredible changes and transformations, the ebb and flow.A defeated country boomed and fell.A wall was torn down and a country became united.A nuclear war was pushed to the edge of breaking.A super-power broke apart, falling in to pieces.More and more countries rose up, gaining a say on international affairs.China and America went through these rough and disturbed 50 years together and both did a terrific job in making their two countries better.Despite the difference in ideology and partisanship, many similarities in the characters these two countries developed during these 50 years still can be found if we check carefully.First of all, both China and America attached much importance to innovation and progress in science and technology.Fifty years ago, the New China was just as young as thirteen and she did not fully recover from the civil war impact.But fortunately, the leaders of our country came to the realization: China would always subject to powerful countries’ dictation as long as we are dependent on economic and technical assistance from Soviet Union.Chinese people would keep hopelessly grappling with poverty and hardship as long as we left aside innovation and development in science and technology.Soon the invisible engine started and Chinese economy began to accelerate.Now, we are not only the biggest producer of cement, fertilizer and textile, we also managed to be one of the most competent countries in machinery manufacturing, fine chemicals, aerospace technology and nuclear energy for military and peaceful purpose.We own all these unimaginable achievement to the innovation and development of science and technology.America accomplished more than China did.Due to America’s ambition and encouragement of science, many inventions emerged and changed the world: genetic engineering, hybrid vehicles, new treatment of cancer, just to name a few.Besides, the federal government funnels billions of dollars into scientific research every year.This is exactly the way America is so attractive to most of the sharp brains and has made itself a Mecca of scientists all around the world.Second, the influence both China and America imposed regionally and internationally increased.As a newly born country, China was pretty much isolated by the majority of countries.To gain the recognition of international community, primer Zhou called for “peaceful co-existence and cooperation” in Bandung, Indonesia.Soon we gained support from tens of African and Latin American countries.Establishing diplomatic relation with America was the most successful maneuver in the ice-breaking plan.And through victory of wars over India and Vietnam, we proved China was not the country that could be bullied now and then.In comparison, America resorted to a more peaceful way: by maintaining its top position of economic entities.Everyone can tell that just by looking at Wall Street’s dynamics and vibrancy.In addition, America were also actively engaged in humanitarian tasks in many poverty-stricken or disaster-stricken countries in Africa and Asia.American-led military operations in Panama, Somalia and Afghanistan successfully eradicated regional drug transaction, a humanitarian crisis and a terrorism regime respectively.The most important of all, by advertising its culture, like hip-hop, Hollywood, fast food, and its great product, like Windows, Coca-Cola and iphone, America made itself so indispensible to the world and therefore ,enormously influential.Third, America and China, two major players in the world, began to be willing to take up more responsibilities in accordance with their big country identity.Both China and America comply with Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and executed nuclear disarmament.After the debt storm swept Europe, America and China played important role in bailing European countries out.When they were in the middle of financial crisis, China and America stepped forward and declared that we are resolved to fix the trouble and spurred up the sluggish economy.In short, what we did was indeed what two big countries were supposed to do at that time.These fifty years meant so much for both countries.We learned and developed.We went through bumpy times and all-speed-ahead times alike.I realized if this is the pattern we develop ourselves, if there is a same belief or creed we hold onto, America and China must be main force to pull this world forward.The world leaves us no better choice than to help and understand each other, to momentarily leave aside issues we can’t yet agree upon, to create a win-win situation with collaborative efforts.Only in this way can we make the world a better place or deliver a better world to our next generation.

一、情景叙述
1.开始，我利用猜谜语的形式让学生听写已学的单词。Eg： Usually there is a TV and a long sofa in it. We can watch TV on the sofa. What is it？（It’s a living room.）学生很快集中了注意力，迅速地进入了教学活动。
2.接下来，我利用课件呈现了一些材料，让学生仿照所给的句型进行写句活动，规定时间内看谁写得多。写着，写着，一个学生突然举起手来提出了自己的建议：“Miss Xiao，这样写太简单，我们能不能小组合作玩接龙，来个趣味造句怎样。“原来这个同学建议who/do what/ where/when由不同的同学填写，造出一个别有意思的句子。我环顾了全班，其他同学也都露出兴奋的表情，想试一试。
虽然这个活动并不在我的预设当中，但是我看见学生都表示出了热情和兴趣，同时考虑到也能起到练笔的作用，便点点头同意了。很快同学就行动起来，小组成员之间展开了合作。几分钟后，许多五花八门的句子便诞生了。每个小组成员的手都举得高高的，抢着要来宣读，甚至还有其他同学来点评。Eg：S1（看着我笑）：Our English teacher is dancing in the swimming pool. S2（表情很夸张地看着我）：Wow！Miss Xiao ，you are so cool！在这个过程中学生产生出了大量的语言词汇，想象力也异常丰富。课堂气氛十分热闹。
3.接下来，我让学生拿出自己事先设计好的图画（如：我的小兔，我的卧室，我的妈妈……），开始了小组合作写作活动。学生的热情持续高涨，讨论声不觉。在巡视的过程中，听到了学生的交流，争执，商榷。尽管教室里有些嘈杂，但是每一位同学都集中着注意力，积极地参与到写作过程中。遇到不会写的词语也迅速查阅书籍，或向老师求助。花了不少时间，学生写好了。于是我打算利用投影仪展示一两篇并稍作点评。就在这时，又有学生提出了一项请求：“Miss Xiao，我们能不能将我们的这篇作品表演出来。”我迟疑着：因为时间并不是很多了，我还有接下去的教学活动没有展开呢。万一，完不成教学流程怎么办？况且我这堂课并不是口语课，是写作训练课，需要学生来表演吗？我拒绝的话还没出口，请求的声音再次响起“Let’s have a try，please.”其他学生纷纷喊道“Let’s have a look,，Miss Xiao. 二、后续情景
就这样，在学生的热情汇报表演中，不知不觉下课的铃声响起。学生还在纷纷议论、感叹，一句“这40分钟过得太快了”飘过我的耳边。看来今天这堂写作课，学生是喜欢的。而第二天学生交上来的作文，一批阅，心中更是大喜。我真没想到连平时作业马虎、写作平平的同学也写出了富有创意，内容丰富的作文。并且有不少同学还针对同组伙伴写的作文进行了自己的点评。Eg：I like Mike’s pet dog. 三、我的反思
新课程标准指出，教学是不断生成的。在课堂教学中，教师的教与学生的学是同时进行的，课堂已经不再局限于教师课前所设定的小框框里，而是开放的。随着教学活动的展开，学生会根据自己的生活经验产生许多自己的想法，从而导致许多无法预见的生成性问题的形成。我的这节课中，学生在学习写作的过程主动提出适合自己学习的一些请求，并希望得到老师的允许。学生的表现证明了他们的英语思维在激活，并能一直贯穿学习过程始终。从学生突破常规，能够主动参与，学会了积极运用语言写作的实际效果看，他们乐于参与并享受着英语写作带来的快乐。

There is a story of architecture through humanity, and about Beauty in simplicity and nature.We are in the Arctic Circle, traveling towards the North Pole, across the frozen world.We are coming to celebrate an ancient, elemental and beautiful structure.But because of the temperature in the Arctic are rising faster than anywhere else, It’s a structure could soon be lost forever.Today we will build an igloo together, a structure that reveals the origin of architecture, when man first created shelter from hostile weather and prowling beasts.First we need a good snow.Igloo, a creation of the Inuit culture, was used as winter home and shelters on hunting expeditions.The people there still hunt, but few build igloos.Then we draw a big circle on the ground.And blocks.The blocks are cut from snow, compacted by the wind to the right consistency.We need about fifty blocks in all.The master block, the foundation has to be placed facing towards the sunshine, because the sun gives us everything.The blocks are laid in a clockwise direction, following the motion of the sun as it moves though the sky from draw to dusk.The way it works is very simple.This particular sort of dome is like the top of an eggshell.It is a ovoid dome, not a semi-circle, so that the force of the weight of the blocks are taken more or less straight down to the ground.The trouble with these sorts of dome, they thrust outwards and want to sort of fall down, but the igloo is incredibly strong.And it supports its own weight, and a lot of other things besides when it’s completed.The miracle of the igloo is that the weakest building material possible, frozen water, achieve strength through brilliant engineering.After a couple of layers of blocks, the walls start sloping inward.The blocks start to spar up and each block is cunningly shaped.It’s all together by a good bit which sort of melts a bit of snow, and then that freezes.And it just stays firm.So it’s all being glued together with ice.Constructing a dome without props or scaffolding is a perilous undertaking.The final stages are hazardous.Problematic joins are fixed with intricate ice carpentry.And the familiar shape keeps on growing.Back inside, all that remains are the finishing touches.We spin two blocks of particular shape to be the keystone and capped stone.Finally it’s completed.The dome is regarded as one of the high points of our architectural culture, particularly celebrated as a hallmark of roman engineering genius.Yet, in this culture, isolated, remote from our own, the dome also developed to meet particular environmental problems and demands.It’s incredible that two cultures so different should come up with the same architectural form.The igloo is a wondrous machine.The snow blocks are cold but wonderful insulators.When heat melts the surface of snow, and the liquid would run into the cracks, freeze and seal them,.So the whole thing really becomes a building of ice rather than snow, eventually much stronger.The igloo contains all the basic ideas of architecture.It’s a practical shelter and a miniature masterpiece of engineering.But above all, the igloo is beautiful, beautiful because of the logic, the clarity of thinking behind its design and construction, beautiful because it seems so simple, yet is also so complex in its function.And of course, beautiful because of its form, the celestial dome, the symbol of the sun in this icy land.
