一、预习,让学生能学

学生是学习的主人,让学生自主、合作、探究地学好英语,就要让学生知道学英语要掌握什么,目标是什么。经过合理有效的预习训练,初一学生能够尽快形成学英语的意识(如同英语课堂教学的热身活动),初步了解英语学习的知识、技能目标;并进一步形成语音、词汇、语法和语篇的学习指向,意识到去进行听、说、读、写、译的技能训练。这样,明确了英语学习的目标,就如同把他们引领到学习游泳的池塘,使他们迈出了自主学习的第一步,从而唤起学生学习英语的主体意识———我能学。

英语课程强调面向全体学生,注重素质教育,尊重个体差异。因此,明确切实可行的英语预习目标非常重要。英语教师要根据不同的课时、学生和学习内容与学生探讨制定不同的预习目标。现在我总结出以下几项预习目标,供学生根据自己实际学习状况(能力、水平、时间、心理等)进行选择:1)能认读预习内容中的新单词并用科学方法尽力识记。2)能通读预习内容并找出预习内容中不会读的、不会翻译的单词和句子。3)能找出预习内容的一些重点、要点。4)能够提出一些质疑并通过各种途径试图解决。5)能分析、提取、归纳预习内容里的一些信息。6)能适当处理预习内容提供的练习。7)能根据预习内容联想出相关的旧知识。8)能搜集与预习内容相关的背景文化知识。9)能整理出预习笔记。10)能与同学、老师、家长等交流预习情况。

《英语课程标准》指出,“教师应在教学中,帮助学生形成适合自己的学习策略”。进入中学后,随着英语教材容量加大,内容加深,如果学生没有形成良好的自主学习习惯,就很难学好英语,进而不能为他们终身学习奠定好的基础。预习是培养自主学习能力的好方法,预习方法的形成是学生会学英语的开始。我们可以指导学生分三个步骤(也可以理解成三个层次)去预习教材内容。

1. 习有所知。

其一,学生通过阅读预习材料要知道其大概意思,要努力写出汉语意思;其二,学生通过预习阅读要知道一些生词和重点词组、短语、句子,用不同的符号把它们在书中标记出来。

2. 习有所思。

“死记硬背”、“学而不思”是英语学困生的学习特点之一,他们常常埋怨“读不懂英语,不会翻译句子”;“英语知识难记,记住了又容易忘记”。《英语课程标准》指出,“引导学生运用观察、发现、归纳和实践等方法,学习语言知识”。对于初一的学生来说英语教师要培养他们勤于动脑、善于思考的习惯,让他们意识到学英语也要“动脑子”、“想法子”。首先,在尝试记单词时,教师可以让学生根据音标、汉语拼音、英语字母的特点拼读、记忆,做到见其形知其音,听其音知其形也可以让学生根据兴趣、词形、词义、词音等对比联想记忆;还可以先易后难有区别地去记忆单词。其次,引导学生分析预习内容,想出与预习内容有关联的旧知识,提取教材中的一些信息,如:人物、地点、时间、事件及段落大意等。再次,鼓励学生质疑,“学起于思,思起于疑”,课前预习的目的之一就是寻疑,小疑则小进,大疑则大进。爱因斯坦曾经说过,“提出一个问题往往比解决一个问题更重要”。有疑问就说明这个学生书看得透,思考得有深度。

首先,引导学生通过查字典、查资料、运用网络,以及与家长、同学、老师等交流解决预习过程中的问题,培养他们合理有效运用身边资源的能力。其次,引导学生处理教材安排的练习。比如牛津初中英语教材中的习题大多是巩固词汇、语法训练(有例句)、通过阅读提取与处理信息这样种类的,只要学生认真研习教材基本上能解决它们。再次,预习为学生课堂学习准备了一种精神优势,即预习后的自我认同、自我评价。

三、预习,让学生想学

英语课程标准强调关注每个学生的情感,激发他们学习英语的兴趣,帮助他们建立学习的成就感和自信心。课前预习为学生提供了一个培养学习英语兴趣,勇于探究,展示自我的平台。英语教师应该通过积极的评价,使学生在英语预习的过程中不断体验进步与成功,认识自我,建立自信,强化英语学习的主体意识,提高学习英语的兴趣,变“要我学”为“我要学”。

1. 预习笔记的双重作用。

一方面初一阶段是培养英语课前预习的关键时期,通过预习笔记可以强化学生预习习惯的形成;同时,自主学习能力不断提高的过程,也是学生夯实英语基础,增强信心的过程。另一方面,英语教师通过预习笔记的检查、反馈,可以对学生进行书面、口头、课堂、课外、个人和整体多方位的积极评价,使他们体验到荣誉感和成就感。

2. 预习展示让学生更风采。

英语教师可以上预习指导课、设计预习交流、汇报等任务活动为学生提供相互交流的机会,以及充分表现和自我发展的空间,达到促进学生发现自我、认识自我、树立自信的目的。

一、从期末考试情况总结教学方式、方法

本次初一英语期末考试为南海区统考,120分为满分,全级平均分为99.3分,优秀率为50.9%,合格率为96.6%。南海区英语统考中,本科组英语区排名第四,从某种程度看,说明本学期的各种做法是比较合理、到位的,总结起来,本科组主要采用了以下的教学对策:

1、从每个学生的实际出发,因材施教。分层教学,分层评价,让每个学生都能感受到成功的喜悦,增强学生的学习的信心和积极性,促进学生在原有基础上的进步。对优等生多给他们创造施展才华的好机会,鼓励他们参加各种英语竞赛,如课前英语的展示活动。对于后进生,也要给他机会展示,比如课前的简单对话。

2、培养学生良好的学习英语的习惯。打好基础,发挥学习的主动性,自觉性和创造性。

3、优化课堂教学,精讲多练。特别是学生的听力和语音判断能力方面须加强巩固。

4、加强英语口语训练,课前多加些口语对话,营造英语学习氛围。
