论文题目：翻译转换理论视角下英文小说的翻译研究 ——以《长日将尽》中译本为例

摘要：随着各国交往日益加强,大量优秀的西方文学作品进入中国,大大促进了中西文化的交流。时代文化浪潮下的文学翻译工作极大地影响者各类翻译理论的发展。翻译转换理论是卡特福德于1965年在其专著《翻译的语言学理论》中提出的。转换是指原语进入译语过程中离开形式的对应。卡特福德在书中提出翻译转换理论分为层次转换和范畴转换两部分。本文从翻译转换的视角出发,对《长日将尽》的中译本进行研究,旨在探讨翻译转换理论对西方文学文本翻译的适用性。《长日将尽》是日裔英国小说家石黑一雄的代表作,该作品也让作者石黑一雄获得了1989年在英语文学里享有盛誉的“布克奖”。他因独具创造性的文字和独特的文学视角先后斩获2017年诺贝尔文学奖、大英帝国勋章、法国艺术及文学骑士勋章等多个奖项,与鲁西迪、奈保尔被称为“英国文坛移民三雄”。《长日将尽》发生的背景是战后的英格兰,听年迈的英国管家讲述他在战场上的经历,石黑一雄从小生活并成长于英国,受到了英国文化和传统的强烈熏陶。生活在中西方文化中的让石黑一雄既有日本民族的文化身份状态,也有英国的文化身份。他的作品试图探讨变革中人们内心的感受。《长日将尽》在中国有三个译本,本文选取影响较大的冯涛的译本作为研究对象,本文使用案例分析法来探讨翻译转换理论在译文中的运用。通过对翻译转换理论的运用和对译文在层次转换和范畴转换上的分析,本研究有以下发现:第一,英语是综合语言,而汉语是分析语言,因此在英译汉时多借助词汇和词性变化表达语法关系;第二,现代汉语是多用动词,一个句子可以连续用多个动词,但是英语动词受时态影响,使用频率没有汉语中高;第三,汉语注重句子内部的逻辑关系,因此有“形散神不散”之称,英语要求句子结构严谨,英汉翻译中译者多使用四字格表达原文含义。本文对《长日将尽》的案例分析扩宽了对该小说汉译研究的领域和角度,同时也为英汉翻译实践提供了更多的借鉴方法。
