、The end of February 815, the young pharaoh the

Twilight

Bella, a 17-year-old girl, moved to Forks and lived with her father. Facing with all the new and strange things around her, Bella was still resolute enough to confront with every difficulty. Unlike other girls, Bella was an independent girl who always acted according to her own will regardless of others. It was the kind of her character that appealed to Edward, who could not move his eyes on Bella at his first sight on her. By accident, Bella became Edward’s deskmate, but Edward left a bad first impression to Bella. It seemed as if it were an unbearable thing for Edward to stay with her. So Bella was disturbed. However, Edward was a vampire who just lived on animals’ blood. But it was difficult for him to control himself not to be eager for bella’s blood. Anyway, it could not prohibit Edward from loving Bella. Every time Bella was in danger, Edward helped her out. From then on, Bella could not help loving him even though she knew Edward was a vampire later. In the end, they became a pair of loves. With Edward’s protection, Bella turned peril into safety and their pure love would be going on.

“I’d never given much thought to how I would die.But dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go.” When reading such moving words, I am completely absorbed in the splendid novel --- Twilight. The person who had said such moving words was a 17-year-old girl --- Bella. Bella was a high school student. After reading the whole novel, what impresses me most is not the mysterious vampires family, but the kindhearted and brave girl --- Bella. Bella was a 17-year-old girl who was experienced her parents’ divorce. In order not to be an obstacle to her mother’s happiness with her stepfather, Bella firmly choice to move into a new city --- Forks to live with her father. Even though she knew that what was waiting for her was the new and strange circumstance, Bella decided to face all of them fearlessly, which makes me know that Bella is a really thoughtful and considerate girl.

As a matter of fact, Bella was just an ordinary human girl who would grow old as time went by and die one day, but Edward was an immortal vampire who had an exceptional and unique strength of reading people’s minds. Actually, some people may wonder why Edward would fall in love with such a delicate human girl, while others may hold a doubtful attitude their love story. However, to my mind, I strongly believe that Bella and Edward can lead a happy life. About one thing I am absolutely positive, they can lead a happy life and they needs to confront with various of hardships and setbacks. But why am I so positive about their love story? Let me have an

analysia!

Bella is a kindhearted and independent girl who never goes with tide. She always sticks to her own way of doing everything. On her first day to school, Edward came across with Bella, and at that moment Edward could not move his eyes on Bella at his first sight on her. I clearly know that it was Bella’s unique and special character that drew Edward’s attention. In Edward’s mind, Bella was a natural girl with a kind heart. After several days’ struggle, Edward could not prevent himself from caring about her and loving her though he knew perfectly well that it would be fateful and deadly thing for a vampire to fall in love with a human girl. From this, it can be seemed that what a charismatic and glamorous girl Bella was.

When Edward said to Bella, “I don’t have the strength to stay away from you forever.” I know, Edward had already been loving Bella deeply.

When Bella answered “I’ll be with you forever,Edward.” I can realize their love has already been surpassed human in human’s innermost feelings.

When Edward said, “you don’t know how long I’ve waited for you, Bella” I know, Bella is the most suitable one for him, only with Bella can Edward gains the real happiness.

When Edward swore, “you’re my life now,Bella.” I think all the loves will be overwhelmed by such impressive words at that moment, as well as I, I know, from then on, Edward would move heaven and earth to protect Bella. There is no doubt that Bella is happy when being with Edward.

To be honest, twilight is the best romance novel that I’ve ever read. There is no much flourish in it, but there are lots of touching and thrilling plots between Edward and Bella. I still remember every time Bella was in danger, Edward could helped her out in time, which made Bella feel so grateful and become interested in him gradually.

There was a time when Bella was on her way home from a bookstore alone, suddenly a gang of ruffians molested her, Bella felt helpless and hopeless. Fortunately, Edward appeared as a hero and rescued the beauty, Bella. At that moment, I couldn’t help praising, that Edward was such a thoughtful gentleman who cares about the person he loves at any time. No wonder Bella would love him.

Then when Edward told Bella he had a super strength that he could read every person’s mind except Bella’s one. You can not imagine that, Bella’s first reaction to it was --- “Is there something wrong with me?” Hearing that, Edward smiled and said, “I tell you I can read minds, and you

think there is something wrong with you.” At that time, Edward knew Bella was a kind girl indeed, who would not be worried and scared when hearing such unusual trust, but just try to find the mistakes of herself.

Once Edward took Bella to his home to meet his family members, instead of being afraid, Bella asked Edward what if his families didn’t like her. Edward was so surprise to hear that and said to Bella, “you are worried not because you’ll be in a house full of vampires, but because you think they won’t approve of you?” Then, I know, Bella has never treated Edward as a different kind. May I ask, how can Edward refuse such a kind and lovely girl. When Edward took Bella to fly through the forest in his amazing speed, I think no more girls can refuse such a romantic man.

Bella pursued the trust love belong to her bravely, while Edward was giving all his love to the one he loved. I know this is love.

All in all, romantic love always has a happy ending. When Bella went through life and death, when Edward experienced the cruel ordeal, seeing they were dancing romantically at last, I can say their love will be going on.

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’

That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those ‘vermin-to-be’ to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness.

Jane Eyre 读后感

Every time I read the story, I will be shocked deeply from my spirit. Or it’s just the relief. What I must admit is that I just want to make up for my lack of English literature, but I was attracted by it, touched by the main character of the story. Jane Eyre is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul, obscure but self-respecting girl. After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think. Jane was an ordinary girl without charming appearance, but she fell in love with her employer deeply. At first, she buried the love in her heart. When walking after the tea or dinner, she tried to appear that nothing had happened, but she always opened her memory to miss what they got along with each other. She also tried her best to fins out the marriage between Mr Rochester and Miss Englame. While, Rochester just appeared to be close to Englame, his favorite love was Jane. Actually, they loved each other very much; the words which Rochester said to Jane touched me. “Sometimes you just give me a particular feeling, and to those who use their beauty to stay with me, I find out that they don’t have the spirit as well as heart. I will be gentle and faithful forever.” As a common girl, I think Jane also moved by the words. It was thought that Jane and Mr Rochester would live a happy life, but it was stopped by a sudden accident. Jane left Rochester because his crazy wife showed up. Then the crazy woman died, Rochester blinded after saving his crazy wife. Rochester became poor in the fire, he lived in a wooden house among the forest alone. At this moment, Jane came back. Eventually, they lived together happily. Jane pursues the independent and the fair between woman and man. Though she has a hard experience, she loves her life, besides; she takes the love to the people who need it. In order to pursue a fair, true love, she even gave up her love which she is desired for. In my heart, Jane is a girl with love and reality; she tries her best to live better. Her life is beautiful as the stars.

Maybe in our general idea, it just is a love story. But on my individual level, it is perfect after I read it my times. And the moved story teaches me how to treat my life, the environment surrounding, and my feelings and how to treat people around us.

Love, friendship, relationship are the great value to human beings. Learning how to love others, thank others is important.

I admire and appreciate Jane. While we can’t ignore another character, Helen, a girl has the love the same as Jane. Helen is an angel in my heart. She is not extraordinary because she gives up the real life completely which makes her a high degree. She is cute, however, the angel in our heart are all cute. When Jane was abused by others, she found Helen’s eyes were strange, at last she understand that it was the true brave. Jane was just able to comfort herself with it, she couldn’t step into the spirit of Helen’s heart, and it was the difference between them. It also suggested that a little girl who could behave like this was really admirable.

While, her destination or her home, is the heaven.

Helen died at a very young age, but all her life was wonderful. When I woke up from my dream, I tried my best to seek the words and descriptions about Helen. Somehow I couldn’t receive the message that she died. To make me relief was that I ignored a detail. In the book on the gravestone of her described her “Resurgam”. The meaning of the Latin is “living again”. Then I was comfortable. I like the two characters in the story. We are satisfied with the final result because life needs light. We always like to search comfort from the book that it don’t exist in the reality. The world is full of various tragedies, if all the results are not wonderful, we can not find the hope. After read the book, we remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past. I am like a companion with Jane went through a period of seemingly ordinary but again not mediocre life. Actually the life of Jane isn’t on a grand and spectacular scale, but she experiences an extraordinary way. Though a little bitter, she will be happy under the care of angel.

Generally speaking, this is our life. In fact, one has endless thoughts for the life. I always think in a difficult situation, if and when the hardships of this life is done, if and when the road of time no longer curves, if and when I try my best to walk to the end, will I be able to see the blinding sunlight? For the most important meaning in life is that, struggling through your trials you realize the value of your life, while taking away all the bitter misfortunes. Only then will we see the true radiance of the golden sun.

This is a story about a special and unreserved woman who has been exposed to a hostile environment but continuously and fearlessly struggling for her ideal life. The story can be interpreted as a symbol of the independent spirit.

It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer. I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”, it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way, but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person, both physically and mentally.

Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag. Since Jane’s education in Lowwood Orphanage began, she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthless oppression, Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden. There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and that garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following

Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time ----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation. Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she made up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles, because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever.

I don’t know what others feel, but frankly speaking, I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’s end----especially when I heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing, this ideal and brand-new beginning of life was what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person; for another, this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get. But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong coming with the excellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to enrich the story, but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you would get.” (By Forrest Gump’s mother, in the film “Forrest Gump”)

What’s more, this film didn’t end when Jane left Thornfield. For Jane Eyer herself, there should always be somewhere to realize her great ideal of being independent considering her fortitude, but for Rochester, how he can get salvation?

The film gives the answer tentatively: Jane eventually got back to Rochester. In fact, when Jane

met Rochester for the first time, she scared his horse and made his heel strained, to a certain extent, which meant Rochester would get retrieval because of Jane. We can consider Rochester’s experiences as that of religion meaning. The fire by his frantic wife was the punishment for the cynicism early in his life. After it, Rochester got the mercy of the God and the love of the woman whom he loved. Here we can say: human nature and divinity get united perfectly in order to let such a story accord with the requirements of both two sides. The value of this film may be due to its efforts to explore a new way for the development of humanism under the faith of religion.

Life is ceaselessly changing, but our living principles remain. Firmly persisting for the rights of being independent gives us enough confidence and courage, which is like the beacon over the capriccioso sea of life. In the world of the film, we have found the stories of ourselves, which makes us so concerned about the fate of the dramatis personae.

In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement, both physical and mental effects on us call for a balance. We are likely to find ourselves bogged down in the Sargasso Sea of information overload and living unconsciousness. It’s our spirit that makes the life meaningful.

Heart is the engine of body, brain is the resource of thought, and great films are the mirrors of life. In

dubitably, “Jane Eyer” is one of them.
