摘要：本篇论文从功能上对于国王钦定版《圣经》中引导关系从句的11个代副词进行了分析。代副词是一种从功能上等同于介词短语的一类词,以here/there/where与介词合并而成,例如hereof/thereon/whereat。此类词在国王钦定版《圣经》中被大量地运用于引导关系从句。它们扮演着现代英语中关系副词的角色。首先,本篇论文从乔姆斯基的X杠杆理论以及WH-Movement对代副词的来源进行了分析。随后,通过X杠杆理论以及WH-Movement对这些副词引导的关系从句进行了句法分析,在每一句例句中都画了相应的树形图。通过句法树形图对代副词在关系从句中的作用、表现进行了详细的分析。最后,本文一个创新之处在将引导关系从句的Where-代副词与其对应的介词短语结构、Here-/There-代副词进行了对比分析。将它们的对比结构以句法树形图展示了出来,以直观的方式对Where-副词的各种性质进行了探索。
