篇1:简爱中学生英文读后感

Jane Eyre, is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul, obscure but self-respecting girl. After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think:

We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.We remember her pursuit of justice. It’s like a companion with the goodness. But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodness on one side and must check the badness on the other side.We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality. In her opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet.Though there are differences in status、in property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality. We also remember her striving for life, her toughness and her confidence…

When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality. Her story makes us thinking about life and we learn much from her experience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real beauty.

篇3:简爱的性格分析 (英文)

关键词:自强自尊,反抗精神,自由平等

Part 1:Introduction

The novel“Jane Eyre“was written in 1847.In 30's and 40's of 19th century, the contradictory of capitalism was very acute in fact, Jane Eyre's story is the production of historical society---a common woman who was in lower position and suffered social depression, but wanted the ambition and requirement of freedom and equality, whose fate convey the strongest sound of remonstration to pursue economic and social rights at that moment.

In British literature, Jane Eyre is a new woman image.Contrasting with many woman characters in contemporary novels Jane Eyre is not a beauty or a girl with noble background, and she is very common in appearance. As we know, in the 30's-40's of 19th century, wealth and family status are the basis of marriage and socia status, she eventually achieved happiness from love with Rochester after lots of sufferings, it is not because she is lucky----most reasons are owing to her typical and personal character and rich spiritua world.

Part 2:character analysis

Jane's character varied and was shown colorfully from her different experiences in difficult life period.

2.1、Character during childhood.

Jane spent an unhappy childhood, Firstly, she entered Gateshead Hall as a poor orphan, then she was treated very badly by Mrs.Reed and cousin, frequently she was blamed, hit or placed in confinement. As a child, she always gazes at their behavior and words with serious eyesight, she is full of hatred to their treatment and bully. So, we can say that Jane owns acute discernment which beyond her age to see through old generation's evil motives so the rebellious spirit was shown in her earlier life---and actually such character run through her whole life in the novel. In addition to author's vivid depiction, the rebellious spirit, the pursuit on freedom and independence was created clearly at the beginning of the novel.Meanwhile, the agony of childhood brings about her strong eagerness of love and warmth of life, and it paved for the development of her character.

2.2、Character during puberty.

In the boarding school, Lewood, where Jane became mature and grew into an adult, and also she experienced her uncommon puberty there, she always suffered hunger and was frequently given unfair punishment. The living condition was as poor as the description in the novel:“…the water was frozen…but I still felt hungry, as the quality was so small…”Even if she was so unfortunate, using the eyesight as arrow, the little girl was judging evil activities in Lewood, especially she despised the greedy, hypocritical headmaster Brocklehurst who makes a living on maltreating children.

In Lewood school, Jane got acquainted with two people who influenced her greatly. One is Helen who believes in Christian faithfully.Helen's mind is full of virtue, kindness, tolerance and bearing, she adhered to that reverend tolerance could take her into the highest, furthest spiritual world. She said:“Anyway, the bible tells us to do good even people hurt us, Sometimes you have to put up with hard things in life…”Jane had tried to follow her but she failed, she couldn't follow her purely“spiritual persuade“---it just shows Jane's rebellious character which pursues equality, freedom.independence and human dignity. Therefore, contrasted with Helen's character, Jane's acute and rebellious character was shown completely. The other people was the teacher, Miss Temple, from whom Jane really got care and happiness she had never before.Temple's influence made Jane believed that loving others is a kind of virtue, and she also learnt how to love and care others, how to be independent by studying hard.On the other hand, Temple also made Jane confident and courageous, when she was misunderstood by Brokehurst, and was announced by Temple she was not lying, Jane believed:“From that moment, I felt I was accepted, and set to work to learn as much as I could, and make as many friends as possible“.And then, when she decided to leave Lewood, she thought“I decided it was the moment for me to change my life too…Suddenly, I wanted freedom…”In another saying, that is the moment Jane's life was changed into anew period.

2.3、Character during adult.

With the entering of Thornfild, Jane involved into the love story with Rochester, there she practiced her strong self-respected and rebellious character and slowly became mature, when she firstly appeared in Thirnfield, her attitude is restrained and protective. She didn't expose her true feeling and was afraid it would be hurt.Wherever or whenever she was, she prepared for being attacked by others.Rochester is the victim of the family's benefits.Although his social status is far from Jane's, he had same view with Jane towards the society. If we want to analyze Jane's activities in Thornfield, we have to inevitably mention a ball held a ball held in Thornfied. The ball is not only a climax of the novel but the cream of the whole novel. It reflected Jane's strength of moral quality and spirit, which take readers into a spiritual world. And also, Jane didn't fell selfabased, she was self-confident and independent in spirit, she was dissatisfied with such arranged social disciplines because had strong rebellious spirit in her character.

When they got ready for getting married, a mad woman appearance would make Jane go back her original position to become Rochester's mistress who couldn't be admitted by society. As she said:”you‘ll remind yourself:‘That man nearly made me mistress…..I must be ice-cold to him“, therefore, we could find that her selfrespected and rebellious character made her persistence. She would rather escape and even become a beggar and nearly be starved to death inside the road than accept defective love, she tried her best to protect her self–esteem and person moral, there her rebellious character was molded more clearly.

In the ending of the novel, confronting the choice between Rochester and John, Jane chose true love determinedly. The author arranged such an ending:the original poor tutor got inheritance, whereas wealthy master became a blind man without anything, however, Jane still went back lover's side.

Part 3:conclusion

Anyway, we could feel such an image of a woman with strong self-esteem, independence and rebellious character from the story or the orphan's life.on one hand, Jane's character has its representative meaning, she represented British women who wanted freedom and equality in lower social position in 30th-40th of 19th century, she also represented rebellion to social injustice at that time.

篇4:简爱英文读后感

“Jane Eyre” Bronte, author of gentle, pure, like the pursuit of some good things, despite the poverty of her family, from the loss of maternal love, combined with her short stature, appearance is not outstanding, but perhaps such a soul deep inferiority complex, reflected in her character is a very self-esteem. Her of Jane Eyre is a beautiful, little woman, but she has an extremely strong sense of self.

Jane Eyre in a survival environment, from an early age with their peers under the same treatment as people do not, aunt of the , cousin of contempt, insult and tortured cousin ...... perhaps it is because of all this, for Back to the Jane Eyre indomitable confidence and strong , a personality to overcome the inherent strength. she has steadfastly pursued a bright, holy, better life.

In before, she never because he is an inferior status of the family teachers feel inferior, but think they are equal. It is because of her integrity, high moral character, pure, spiritual not secular society of pollution, making Rochester was shocked, and she can be seen as an equal in spirit and their own people to talk to, and deeply in love with her.

And when they get married that day, Jane Eyre know Rochester has a wife, she must feel that they want to leave, although she said, “I want God to comply with the law issued by the world , I would like to stick to living a sober and sometimes I was not as so crazy now when accepted . ” But speaking from the heart, deeper love Jane realize that they are being cheated, shes self-esteem has been teased because she loved Rochester. However, Jane Eyre has made a very rational decision. In such a strength of love under siege, in the prosperous life under the , she still has to adhere to their own dignity as an individual, this is the spirit of Jane Eyre the most charming place.

Novel design of a very bright at the end - although Rochesters manor destroyed, he himself became a disability, but it is such a condition, so that Jane Eyre is no longer in the dignity and the conflict between love and at the same time access to their own dignity and love.

篇5:简爱英文读后感

This is a story about a special and unreserved woman who has been exposed to a hostile environment but continuously and fearlessly struggling for her ideal life. The story can be interpreted as a symbol of the independent spirit. It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer.I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”, it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way, but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person, both physically and mentally.Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag.Since Jane’s education in Lowwood Orphanage began, she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthless oppression, Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden. There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and that garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside.Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following

Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation.Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she made up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles, because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever.I don’t know what others feel, but frankly speaking, I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’s end----especially when I heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing, this ideal and brand-new beginning of life was what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person;for another, this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get.But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong coming with the excellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to enrich the story, but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you would get.”(By Forrest Gump’s mother, in the film “Forrest Gump”)

What’s more, this film didn’t end when Jane left Thornfield. For Jane Eyer herself, there should always be somewhere to realize her great ideal of being independent considering her fortitude, but for Rochester, how he can get salvation?

The film gives the answer tentatively: Jane eventually got back to Rochester. In fact, when Jane

met Rochester for the first time, she scared his horse and made his heel strained, to a certain extent, which meant Rochester would get retrieval because of Jane.We can consider Rochester’s experiences as that of religion meaning. The fire by his frantic wife was the punishment for the cynicism early in his life. After it, Rochester got the mercy of the God and the love of the woman whom he loved. Here we can say: human nature and divinity get united perfectly in order to let such a story accord with the requirements of both two sides. The value of this film may be due to its efforts to explore a new way for the development of humanism under the faith of religion.Life is ceaselessly changing, but our living principles remain.Firmly persisting for the rights of being independent gives us enough confidence and courage, which is like the beacon over the capriccioso sea of life.In the world of the film, we have found the stories of ourselves, which makes us so concerned about the fate of the dramatis personae. In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement, both physical and mental effects on us call for a balance. We are likely to find ourselves bogged down in the Sargasso Sea of information overload and living unconsciousness. It’s our spirit that makes the life meaningful.Heart is the engine of body, brain is the resource of thought, and great films are the mirrors of life.In
