girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons.the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me.but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, i always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, could you please explain this to me? i want very much to do better this time.i started explaining, and finished in a hurry.pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly.nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam.and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer.no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldnt forgive myself.i simply couldnt forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, why didnt you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? why didnt you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret? i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word responsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.later in my life, i continued to experience many failures.but never again did i feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that i have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best i can.words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts.such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures.such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it.yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.we learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not assisting.we hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who cant even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.we buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthless junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility.such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggressive will to take action and solve the problems.history has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity.standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student.probably ill be an ordinary man for the rest of my life.but this doesnt discourage me any, for i know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, its going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that i will be living.i cant ever forget that little 比赛分小学组、初中组和高中组进行, 各设一、二、三等奖和优秀指导老师奖。经过角逐, 市三小的卢永康, 市一小的吴金剑、朱典;南圣中学的黄东嫦、五指山中学的李少玲;职业技术学校的李雄平最终分别拔得小学组、初中组和高中组的头筹。

“外研社杯”全国大学生英语演讲比赛是一项极具影响力的赛事。近几年，随着中国大学生对英语学习的兴趣不断提高和高水平选手的纷纷涌现，公众对此项赛事的关注度也越来越高。如何在这样一场聚集了众多英语演讲好手的比赛中脱颖而出呢？深厚的英文功底，熟练地演讲技巧，准确的说，是英文演讲技巧，敏捷的临场反应等等这些都是不可或缺的因素。古人有云：不打无准备之仗。充分精细的赛前准备是成功的一半。以上所提到的演讲中必备的因素都是可以通过长期而富有针对性的培训而获取的，所以从这一方面来讲，此次培训的重要性也就不言而喻了。

对于一名准备参加全国高水平演讲比赛的学生来说，不论前期你的演讲技巧是否熟练，心理素质是否过硬，但自身的英语水平必须过硬。因为知识，尤其是语言的积累不是一朝一夕的事情，它是长期努力的表现结果。当然也绝不能因为自身英语水平还不错就有所懈怠。要知道山外有山，楼外有楼。一切的准备都会在比赛中发挥出它应有的作用。

一、初步阶段，可以进行以下的几项环节

1.朗诵、背诵美文

朗诵和背诵美文的过程即是在帮助选手增强语感，调整思维。大声的朗诵出来并进录音，纠音是一种直接且有效的认清和改进自己不足的方法。反复几次可以达到自我改正的效果。单单朗诵文章还是远远不够的，要想让那些令人为之“倾心震撼”的好词好句变成自己的，就要牢固的将它们输入进大脑中。背诵的过程不断地刺激你的大脑皮层，使你对整篇文章的结构和脉络会有全新的认识，对一些固定搭配，语法的使用形成条件反射。

这里需要强调的是，选文的范围不需要很杂，挑选一本适合自己的书籍进行朗读背诵才可事半功倍。若一味的只是注重量大而忽略对知识掌握程度的正确估计，只会得不偿失。

2.对经典的演讲进行模仿

接下来，可以对经典的演讲录音进行语音语调上的模仿。学习起伏强弱，语速上的把控等。在正确的发音基础上，形成颇令人信服的演讲发声方式，有助于演讲内容的丰满。

3.试写评论性文章

写下对自己的所朗诵或背诵的文章的感想，从不同角度锻炼自己对待事物的不同看法，或赞同或有疑义，总之言之有理即可。懂得发出自己的声音，锻炼自己的思维，为接下来的培训做准备。毕竟，最终的演讲稿完全是你自己的所思所想，是否言之有物不空洞，是裁定演讲稿优秀与否的关键。

文章不是随便写写的，一定要进行修改，否则文章中所藏匿的错误永远在那。用词是否精准，句式是否合乎语法，文章是否扣题，脉络是否清晰。这些都需要老师和同学的帮助了。

二、培训中期，需要多人合作进行

1.进行定时演讲

演讲之所以称之为演讲，是因为它需要向他人传达信息，这其中存在着微妙的互动关系。演讲从来都不是自说自话的单人表演，它需要眼神的沟通，现场氛围的沟通，这些都是极其重要的。也就是说，“演讲不仅是个人行为，而且是社会行为。”以小组的形式进行培训就解决了演讲者在准备时只能朝空气抒发情感的尴尬，同时还可以锻炼演讲者在众人面前表现的胆量和素质。

在台下聆听的其他小组成员可以就台上的演讲者的演讲进行点评，这样显得更为客观。同时可以锻炼成员们的批判是聆听技巧。“聆听技巧同演讲技巧同等重要。在你的一生中，你会见到不计其数的公共信息传播方式：课堂授课、电视广告以及聊天室交流等。通过练习聆听，你将学会如何准确反应以及准确评估他人的公众演讲。”

在实践中我们发现，此项进程一定要主意时间的把握。因为定时演讲的目的就是要锻炼演讲者在规定时间内阐述自己的观点的能力。演讲时间超过规定时间的原因可能是准备内容过多，也可能是由于准备不充分而浪费了时间，时间到了还没有讲完。而演讲时间剩余过多则是因为语速过快；内容准备不充分；忘词，这也就是我们经常可以看到一些不成熟的演讲者站在台上翻白眼，做小动作，尴尬的苦想。

解决这些问题除了充分的准备，还有就是要进行大量的实战演练，让演讲变成一种习惯，培养演讲者对时间的把控能力。

实践中还有一个问题值得关注，演讲者的演讲内容是否扣题。我们发现一些演讲者很容易在演讲的过程中跑题，或者干脆一开始就误读了演讲题目。这需要加强锻炼演讲者对一个演讲题目中重要信息的敏锐度和理解。可以有新颖独到的观点想法，但不能过分偏激。

2.观看精彩演讲视频

在观看视频时，不仅仅要关注演讲者的语音，抑扬顿挫，更要留意演讲者的神态、姿态和精神面貌。他是如何与观众进行交流的，他是怎么抓住观众的注意力的，这些都是演讲中最基本的点，但却又是很难做到的。

反复的观看并能真正的将所所学运用到自己的演讲中来，摒弃羞涩，建立足够自信的内心，正视自己，更要直视观众。

3.关注时事并书写评论性文章

这一部分是承接初步阶段中“试写评论性文章”而来的。而在这一时期要从评论一些美文到社会时事，并且字数需要增加，文章的逻辑感也要更深一步加强。这些练习还在一定程度上增加了演讲者的知识储备量。

三、培训后期，进入高层次对抗练习

1.采用辩论赛形式

辩论赛的形式可以是两两辩论，也可以是多人辩论。这样既增加了培训的趣味性，同时也在激烈的脑力风暴中给予选手不一样的灵感。

但这项活动对选手的反应能力和英语水平要求相对较高，如果选手达不到举办辩论赛的程度最好不要采用这种形式。因为在这个过程中选手们并不能得到充分的锻炼。

2.对历年“外研社杯”演讲比赛的题目进行实战演练

书写演讲稿，选手们逐一进行演讲，最终评价出孰高孰低，创造紧张的比赛氛围，有助于选手们提前进入备战状态。经过一段时间的培训，站在演讲台的选手们基本上已经具备了一名真正的演讲者的风采，成熟自信，游刃有余。

3.学会思考听众们的需求

在与他人交流的时候，演讲者应考虑到听众们的需求并思考如何将这些需求放入到自己的演讲内容里。不是在一味的告诉听众你要讲的是什么，而是“了解听众渴望感觉、知道和体验的是什么，这样才能引起他们的思想转变。”③只有演讲内容与听众产生了相关性，听众才会变得积极，演讲的气氛才会活跃，你的演讲才可以向“成功”迈进。当然这是更高层次的要求，而这种要求又恰恰是奠定你的演讲是否能引起共鸣的关键。

“外研社杯”全国大学生英语演讲比赛成功的举办了很多年。但是选手们多以自己准备为主，这样的一次赛前培训，将有志于在比赛中取得好成绩的同学们聚集起来，就是从根本上建立起一种竞争的环境，互相学习，取长补短。将赛前准备变得系统，有章法，同时可以进行量化评估。对此次培训成果的最终检验还需通过演讲比赛，但这次的培训从某种程度上来说已经是一种创新。这种创新使我们具有了在这一培训领域的经验，对于以后再举办此项活动帮助很大。

My view on social networking

People can now chat freely whenever it is and wherever they are, thanks to the assistance of the social networking.This is excellent as we can keep our friendship fresh in an easy way.However, the reverse side of the coin reveals immediately under the catalyzing of this fast-developing society.According to the theory of Six Degrees of Separation, people can get to know everyone in this world with the social intercourses of no more than 6 friends.The wonderful function of the connection make people feel warm and the desperation of this emotion make the social networking take even more responsibility than good.A 90-generation university student jumpped off a building after the ignorance of the long lasting crying for help on the internet.We cannot simply attribute her death to the network, but we have to wonder that whether the social networking can provide us enough supportive friendships or our expectation was too high?

The paper is much warmer than the keyboard.The veritable communication is rather sweeter than the flow of the number.I believe the real and honest communication between people is even more meaningful.It is our responsibility to maintain the balance of the social networking and the real one.Just remember :happiness comes from the quality rather than quantity, the depth rather than frequency.

比赛题目：比赛开始时当场公布。赛题为议论文写作1篇、说明文写作1篇，每篇长度为500词左右，写作时间共两小时。

决 赛 复赛结束后，各省大学外语教学研究会将获得决赛资格的3名选手向大赛组委会秘书处报名参加全国决赛。大赛组委会不接受选手个人直接报名。

关于2013“‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛”的通知

吉林省各高等学校大学外语教学院、部、系、室∶ ?‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛?是外语教学与研究出版社联合教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会和教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会主办的全国性大学生英语演讲赛事。按照大赛章程（见附件二）的规定，各省初赛、复赛在各省大学外语教学研究会的指导和组织下进行。为此，我会就本次大赛初赛、复赛的有关事宜通知如下：

一、参赛资格

全国具有高等学历教育招生资格的普通高等学校在校本、专科学生、研究生；35岁以下，中国国籍。在职研究生、曾获得往届?‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛?、?‘外研社杯’全国英语辩论赛?出国奖项的选手不包括在内。

二、参赛注册

有参加比赛的选手必须在2013年11月20日前到大赛网站填写相关信息。

三、初赛

1、组织单位。各高校大学外语教学院（部、系、室）负责组织实施。每个初赛赛点应有不少于20人参赛。参赛学校应保证本校符合参赛资格的学生有公平的报名参赛机会。

2、比赛环节。可包括定题演讲、即兴演讲、回答问题等部分。

3、演讲题目。定题演讲题目为：when socrates meets confucius（每位选手必须在本题目下加小标题）。即兴演讲题目各校自定。

4、评委组成。评委人数不少于5人，有条件的学校可聘请外籍教师担任评委。

5、赛场布置：组委会秘书处提供统一宣传海报模板和赛场背板设计模板（电子版），参赛院校也可自行设计，但必须包含大赛名称（?‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛?）和主办单位名称。

6、初赛时间。10月18日前。

7、初赛结果。请各校将参加复赛的学生名单于10月18日前，上报至吉林省大学外语教学研究会秘书处（请将附页的回执表发至：limeng@jlu.edu.cn）。

四、复赛

1、复赛名额分配。吉林大学6人；东北师范大学、延边大学、北华大学各2人；其他本专科学校各1人。

2、复赛时间。2013年11月17日（周六）上午8点（如有变化，另行通知）。

4、复赛分本科组、独立学院组和高职高专组分别计分排名。

5、复赛分两轮进行，第一轮：命题演讲。每位选手3分钟，内容详见外研社网页上的竞赛规程。第二轮：即兴演讲。每位选手2分钟，回答问题1分钟。每位选手抽到即兴演讲题目后，给3分钟的准备时间。即每位选手在前一位选手上台演讲时抽即兴演讲题目，依次类推；届时不到场抽题者取消比赛资格。

各学院： ?‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛?与?‘外研社杯’全国英语写作大赛?是由外语教学与研究出版社联合教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会和教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会共同举办、面向全国高校在校大学生的公益赛事。两项大赛以高远的立意和创新的理念，汇聚全国优秀学子，竞技英语表达与沟通艺术。同一赛场，两个舞台，既各具特色，又互促互进，为全国大学生提供展示外语能力、沟通能力与思辨能力的综合平台。?重庆市第二十四届大学生英语演讲比赛、写作大赛暨2014年?外研社杯?全国英语演讲大赛、写作大赛重庆赛区选拔赛?将于11月2日在西南大学举行，为做好我校此次竞赛的组织工作，现将校内选拔赛有关事项通知如下：

一、参赛对象：全体在校学生

二、竞赛时间和方法 演讲大赛：

校内初赛定于2014年9月25日（星期四）下午14：30-17：30在六教楼举行，竞赛形式：命题演讲（3分钟），命题演讲题

校内决赛定于2014年10月16日（星期四）下午14：30-17：30在六教楼举行，竞赛形式：命题演讲（3分钟）+即兴演讲（2分钟），命题演讲题目：change the unchangeable。写作大赛：
