马英九胜选演讲：从感恩出发，从谦卑做起
各位立法委员，各位民意代表，各位竞选总部的同仁，我们亲民党的宋主席，在现场以及电视机旁的“全国”民众，大家晚安，大家好！
现在我向大家报告，刚才开票结果统计，我与萧万长先生得票已经超过一半，当选“中华民国”第十二任的“总统”、“副总统”。我要强调的是，这次的选举结果不是我们马萧个人的胜利，也不是国民党一个党的胜利，这是全体台湾人民的胜利，大家说对不对？这次台湾所有希望求新求变、希望开放改革、希望和谐向前行的人民共同的胜利对不对？
更重要的是，我们完成了台湾历史上第四次的公民直接“总统”选举，在平和的情况下落幕，代表了我们民主政治又向前迈进了一步，大家说对不对？
从选举的结果可以看得出来，台湾的人民心声是什么，台湾人民希望政府清廉，不要贪腐，台湾人民政治安定，不要内斗，台湾人民希望和谐，不要撕裂，台湾人民希望两岸和平，不要战争，大家说对不对？过去这一年，我从南到北，访问了260多个乡镇市，接触到50万以上的民众，我深刻感觉到，我们台湾人的要求其实并不多，我们只希望能够过安定和平的日子，我们生活要过的好，而且最重要的我们要能够维持台湾之所以成为台湾的核心价值，就是善良、坚韧、包容、刻苦，对不对？
这八年来，越来越多的台湾人民对政治感到厌烦，对口水战感到痛恨，但是人民却共同希望王建民能够胜投，希望中华队能够取得奥运参赛权，台湾人民不分蓝绿都是一样的，对不对？
台湾人民并不希望大富大贵，但是他们有权利要求不要过苦日子。对不对？台湾已经是个民主社会，人民之间政治的看法或许并不相同，彼此也会批评，但是我相信每个人都可以同意的是，我们不能够在原地踏步，在内耗空转下去了。所以我们认为，只有改变，台湾才有希望，只有改变，人民才有机会，对不对？
所以我向大家报告，人民的声音我们听见了，我们现在的感觉，虽然是胜选，我们高兴，但是更重要的，我们心里面了解到，这是一个重大责任的承担，我们必须要把人民的付托变成政策、变成施政，才能回报大家对我们的支持，大家说对不对？
1月12日我们立法院的选举，国民党拿到三分之二的席次，现在“总统”大选我们又能够过半，这代表着人民支持我们，完全执政、完全负责的看法，大家说对不对？
这代表着萧院长跟我出来参选，为的不是个人和家庭的荣华富贵，我们知道我们的肩上的重担不是千斤而是万斤，请各位放心，我们就任后一定以最快的速度把我们提出来“中央”的政见变成预算，最终落实，最终考核，一定要贯彻到底，好不好？
所以选举的结束只是承担的开始，选举的结束也是改变的开始，我再强调一遍，唯有改变台湾才有希望，唯有改变，人民才有机会。我要在这里向我们的竞争对手说几句话，谢长廷先生，苏贞昌先生，他们的竞选团队和支持者，我也要向他们致意，这次选举，大家当然有许多的批评，甚至有许多的火花，但是我们从来不敢忽视民进党在过去几十年当中对于台湾民主、台湾进步的贡献，不论我们的看法有什么不同，但是我们至少共同完成了台湾史上第四次的“总统”直选，让“总统”选举能够在基本上平和的情况下落幕，我们对这次的选举都做出我们应该有的努力，也完成了台湾民主政治史上一个重要的里程碑，我觉得不论输赢如何，我们应该同感骄傲，民主自由是台湾最重要的资产，我们生活在其中，平常也许感受不到，但是一定关键时刻，民主自由所展现的力量会非常大，这是台湾最大的资产，也是台湾最迷人的资产。
民主、自由是我们台湾最核心的价值，萧院长跟我在未来都愿意以我们最大的力量和生命捍卫他，好不好。我也要在这里承诺，我们
5月20日执政后，一定努力争取民进党以及其他在野党派合作与支持，共同为台湾未来打拼。我也要承诺，谢先生提出19项的重要政见，我们也会若干纳入我们施政的重要参考。我认为倾听人民的声音，尊重在野党和媒体，不干预独立机关的运作和扶持社会中间的力量，是推动阳光政治、维护多元制衡以及让台湾继续在民主的大道上前进的重要步骤，我保证上任后，一定身体力行。
各位亲爱的乡亲，选举只是一时的，但是人民的福祉、社会的安定、“国家”的前途却是永久的，选举只是决定这四年内由谁来管理这个政府，我们不必过度的看重，而是应该想到选举的结束就是执政的开始，而选举当中，它的本质是政治性的，会冲突、对立，但是执政后是行政性的，我们不会因为有500多万人没有投票给我我们就不照顾他，他们都是我们的人民，大家都是人民，我们一定会一视同仁，不分党派的照顾。
我要在这里向大家保证，执政后的国民党，会从感恩出发，从谦卑做起，我们会努力的倾听人民的心声，我们在野八年，非常感受到人民对现状的痛苦和无奈，我们会把他们的心声当成是我们执政最主要的依据，我们会勇敢的检讨、反省，我们会努力的来改革，来把我们社会改的更好。所有的政策我们一定会贯彻到底。
萧院长跟我，未来执政之后一定努力，能够以身作则。我们要让所有的孩子们能够看到一些正面的示范，如果让孩子们感觉到他不会跟我们学坏，这才是政治人物应该做的正面示范。大家说对不对？
一个民主国家，政党执政、下野，上上下下是家常便饭，其实不必过度的解读，和平竞争、和平轮替，将来一定是政党政治的常态，在这里我要感谢支持我的民众，支持我的朋友们，你们给我们一个机会，让台湾能够大步向前迈进，我和萧院长一定尽快来达到各位的期待。特别感谢各地竞选总部的干部，因为你们到处拜票拉票，才让我们有今天的成果。我也要感谢国民党吴主席以及所有党部同仁，你们的支持是我们成功重要的支柱。我也要感谢所有警察同仁、维安人员以及“国安”系统人员，因为你们把安全工作做的很好，让选举在非常激情气氛下和平落幕。
各位乡亲，各位女士、先生，选举已经告一段落，我们把激情收起来，卷起袖子要推动建设，台湾不能再等待，台湾不能再蹉跎，台湾不能再犹豫，台湾必须要进步。
我相信，今天是台湾进步改革的开始，未来的台湾我相信一定是越来越旺，大家说对不对。各位乡亲父老，各位我亲爱的台湾人民，是不是请各位再一次和我一起来喊台湾向前行，台湾一定赢。

评价理论 (Appraisal Theory) 是在Martin的话语基调理论基础上发展起来的, 它主要关注用于协调社会关系的语言资源和态度的表达。它发展于20世纪90年代, 是对功能语言学人际意义框架的扩展 (李站子, 2002) 。评价理论系统主要关注说话者/作者对人物、地点、事物、事件、现象等的肯定或否定的态度, 及如何协商、表明自己的态度和立场 (王振华, 2001) 。自提出以来, 评价理论就受到了学界的高度关注, 亦频频被运用到文学、传媒等不同语篇的分析中, 帮助读者更好地了解说话者/作者的立场、观点和态度。
本文以评价理论为理论框架, 选取美国总统奥巴马在2008年和2012年发表的胜选演说词进行文本标注和分析, 旨在通过考察语篇中评价资源的分布和不同评价手段的应用, 来解释演讲者是如何通过有效利用评价手段和不同的评价资源, 来构建其与受众的社会关系, 从而更好地了解演讲者对周围世界和事件的立场、观点和态度。
2. 评价理论系统和两篇胜选演说词中的评价资源
评价理论系统是一个人际意义系统, 人们用评价性资源跟他人协商社会关系——通过告诉受众自己对某些人、物的感觉协调人与人之间的关系;这一语义关系被定义为态度意义 (attitude) 。态度意义是评价理论的核心, 它又包括情感 (affect) 、判断 (judgement) 和鉴赏 (appreciation) 这三个子系统。态度是评论者从情感感知、社会规范及伦理道德、美学赏析和价值评估等这些角度表达对被评价物的感受和评价。其次, 关于态度意义的评价存在着强烈程度的差异, 是高、中, 还是低, 等级性是态度意义的最重要特征, 这就是与态度意义并存的级差系统 (graduation) 。然后, 还涉及到态度意义评价的源头, 也即评价者。有的态度来自于说话者/作者, 而有的则可能只是转述别人的态度而已, 这是评价系统另一重要的子系统——介入系统 (engagement) (Martin&White, 2008) 。
演说文体有其独特性, 不同于书面语和日常口语, 又与它们有共同点:它以口述的书面语形式, 运用显性或隐含的评价手段反映演说者在语篇中所传达的就某一具体事件或事物的观点、立场及价值评判。通过运用各种语言技巧以及密集的评价资源, 演说者的立场、观点和态度往往可以得到最直观而高效的表达。下面我们分别从评价系统的态度意义、介入系统和级差系统角度, 详细对比分析奥巴马总统是如何在他两次胜选演说中遣词造句, 表明他先后两次在美国大选获胜之后的态度、观点和立场的变化及差异。
3. 奥巴马两篇胜选演说词中评价意义表达的对比分析
政治演说词通常都具有极强的渲染力、政治倾向和目的性, 政治家往往通过激情澎湃、慷慨激昂的演说来表达自己的政治观点, 阐述对某一特定事件的立场和评价, 渲染热烈的会场氛围, 去打动、感染听众, 使之信服并追随自己的政治追求。胜选演说则更具有其特殊意义, 因其也是美国大选中获胜方的获胜感言。
本文选取的两篇胜选演说分别是2008年11月4日美国总统大选投票日, 奥巴马最终以高票当选美国第44任总统并成为美国历史上第一任黑人总统后, 在家乡芝加哥发表的题为“美国变革已经来临”的胜选演说;和2012年11月7日奥巴马在击败共和党候选人第二次当选美国总统并开创了美国历史上非裔美国人连任总统的先河时发表的题为“最美好的未来尚未到来”的胜选演说。来自同一位演说者, 两篇演说的功能意义、语言风格等固然存在相似和延续, 然而由于不同的历史背景、国际国内政治局势和社会经济环境, 奥巴马在两篇演说词中的观点、立场和态度也存在差异。
3.1 两篇演说词中态度意义的表达
两篇演说词开篇都是奥巴马对于两次大选过程中对他的选举给予莫大支持和帮助的各方力量的感激之情。美国大选是一个历时漫长、耗资耗力的工程, 没有强劲且持续的后备军, 候选人很难坚持到最后并胜出。因此, 在获胜演说中, 成功者必得用各种溢美之词去表达自己诚挚而热烈的情感。
演说者的情感意义在演说现场既可以通过语气、手势、表情等肢体语言表现, 也在具体的词语中得到充分体现。如2008和2012演说中, 奥巴马都用“Thank you.Thank you.Thank you very much.”开场, 表明他的感激之情。同时, 两篇演说中他都首先列举了所有的来自各个阶层的选民, 对所有人的参选表示感激, 正是广大普通选民们的支持才成就了奥巴马最后的胜利 (I am grateful to them) ;接着他以胜利者的姿态大度地表达了对对手的欣赏和感激, 并期待与他们的合作 (I look forward to working with them) ;同时他着重提到副总统乔·拜登, 感谢他在两次大选中的一路陪伴和支持 (I want to thank my partner in this journey) ;最后, 他浓墨重彩地表达了对妻子米歇尔·奥巴马的爱、感激及对一双女儿的疼爱和呵护 (I love you both more than you can imagine) 。这些都是显性的表示情感意义的评价性词汇资源。

带有明显的态度意义的评价性语言资源在两篇演说词中均有大量的使用, 只是在被评价对象上两篇演说词稍有区别, 各有侧重。如在2008年演说词中, 奥巴马表达感激之情时所列举的被感激对象非常多, 从广大选民、麦凯恩参议员、副总统拜登到妻子女儿、奶奶及妹妹等其他家人, 再到竞选顾问和竞选经理都是一一提及名讳, 表示由衷而诚挚的感激之情;而在胜利获得连任之后, 他在2012演说词中除了照例提及竞选对手、副总统和妻子女儿之外, 重点转向感谢自己的竞选团队、志愿者团队和那些甚至不关心政治的选民, 因为正是他们的默默支持, 奥巴马才得以成功连任。
3.2 两篇演说词中介入意义的表达
按照评价系统理论, 介入可由自言和借言实现 (王振华, 2001) 。自言表明说话者没有投射, 只是说话者一个人的“声音”, 说话者直接对谚语内容负责, 体现出话语表达者的主观性。在演说者, 演说者通常会大量运用第一人称复数以及与之相照应的词语作为句子的主位。如在两篇演说词中, 奥巴马贯穿全篇不断使用we, we as a people, we as one nation, one people, our nation等涵盖受众的称呼, 不仅表明他作为新任总统心中时时有选民、事事为选民的思想, 也能广泛引起受众的强烈共鸣, 继续拥护他及他的新政府。
借言是通过间接投射和话外投射等来实现的, 话语中可以出现多个人的“声音”, 说话者可以借他人之口表达承认或疏远的观点。如2008演说中, 奥巴马以特别选民——106岁高龄的安妮为例, 从她的视角讲述一个世纪以来美国在政治、经济、国力等方面翻天覆地的变化 (she lived to see, she saw, she was there to witness, she was there for) , 让所说的话显得极为客观和可信。在两篇演说词中, 奥巴马均大量采用we will, we want, we believe, we must, we may等话外投射, 表达了一种扩展性的多声, 表明了新总统对美国未来充满美好愿景的立场。
3.3 两篇演说词中级差意义的表达
级差系统的意义是评价系统的中心, 态度和介入可以说是级差的范围。级差最显性的表现涉及到强度和数量。对强度的评判, 即强化, 主要涉及质量和过程;对数量的评判, 即量化, 则应用于实体。在演说语体中, 为了达到较佳的语言表达效果, 演说者除了采取调整语速、语调等非语言技巧以外, 还通常在措辞上下工夫。比如在表达态度的情感意义时, 演说者使用了形容词、副词的最高级the best, the greatest等来强化感激和溢美之情;在表达判断意义时, 演说者大量采用程度副词forever, always, never等加强对被评价者能力、可靠性及妥当性的肯定和赞赏;在描述美国面临的经济危机时, 演说者使用一些本身就带有加强性的名词以达到强化表达意义的效果, 如the enormity of the task。此外, 演说问题最为常用的语言表达方式是排比、反复、感叹、呼吁等句型, 演说者通过句子结构层面的评价性资源, 表达强烈的态度意义。

通过对这两篇演说的描述性分析, 我们发现, 奥巴马两次胜选演说词中均蕴涵着丰富的评价性资源, 且这些评价大多是正面的、积极的、肯定的, 映衬了获胜的喜悦心情。在态度意义中, 显性的情感性评价占大多数, 隐性的判断性评价居多;同时, 判断意义中正面积极评价占多数, 用来表扬和肯定与“我们”相关的行为主体。在介入意义中, 我们发现演说者多使用紧缩性语言, 树立自己的权威地位, 进而劝说鼓舞民众, 以达到获得他们支持的政治目的。在级差意义方面, 演说者更多地使用语势来加强话语的力度, 表达获胜后强烈的内心情感, 并树立新任总统的积极形象。

篇4：胜选不难,取得新辉煌不易
为何会“反普”
2011年9月24日在统一俄罗斯党的代表大会上，梅德韦杰夫宣布将由普京担任该党总统候选人，获大家一致鼓掌通过。接着，普京表示将接受这一提名，还说如果当选总统，将提名梅德韦杰夫任总理。之后的12月4日进行议会（杜马）选举，结果统俄党在选举中遭重大挫折，在议会中的席位由315席减少到238席，未能取得2/3的席位。当天下午，反对派举行了集会，名义上是反对选举不公正，存在舞弊，但实际上是近几年来“去普京化”的发酵。“反普”的深层次原因有：
反对政治垄断，厌恶“普梅”两人的“政治二人转”。认为这种“王车易位”是在看似不违宪的名义下践踏民主，反映了俄民主制度缺失了加强政治竞争性的政治诉求。可以说，这种诉求是在苏联解体20年来前所未有的，也是要求政治民主不断发酵的结果。与此相关，俄罗斯不少民众对普京时期存在的威权主义政治模式不满。
严重的腐败问题得不到解决。这主要是官僚集权政治体制长期没有从根本上得以解决的结果。
贫富差距拉大。2000年～2010年间，最贫困的10%与最富有的10%之间的收入差距不仅没有缩小反而扩大了近1/5。而且，俄罗斯市政公用服务收费过高，收费公司随意性大，价格高得让老百姓无法承受。另外，科学、教育、卫生事业拨款不足。
国家现代化没有取得进展，长期以来俄罗斯经济发展过多地依赖于世界市场上能源价格的上涨。2009年，石油价格大幅度下跌，一下子使俄GDP下降7.9%。
总的来说，“反普”是要求改革、特别是要求政治体制改革的一种强烈反映。对一些人来说，如果在上个世纪90年代中期至本世纪初期所关心的是生存问题的话，那么，在物质生活条件有了明显改善后转而开始关心政治问题，特别是关注民主、自由的问题。
“挺普”占主导地位
这次大选之所以没有悬念——普京首轮胜出，是因为在俄罗斯，“挺普”的民意居主导地位。
首先，众多的俄罗斯人把普京视为稳定的象征。他们相信普京能够引领国家实现稳定和发展，不希望突然改变政策，搞忽左忽右的政策，不要俄罗斯再出现动荡。俄第二大城市圣彼得堡“挺普”集会的主题就是“不要大动荡，要伟大的俄罗斯”，人们举的标语牌上写着“不要橙色革命发生在俄罗斯”、“不要瓦解俄罗斯”、“不想回到90年代”。普京接替叶利钦后的执政时期，通过调整与整治，使俄结束了混乱无序的政治，并使市场经济向有序方向转变。
其次，众多俄罗斯人把普京视为实现强国的象征。普京执政时期，俄经济得到了大发展，GDP年均增长率达到7%。普京的目标是到2020年，俄将成为世界第五大经济体，届时人均GDP可达3.5万美元。恢复俄在世界上的大国地位，成为强国，这也是广大俄罗斯人一直追求的梦想。
第三，人们认同普京执政时期关注民生的政策与取得的成就。2000年，俄罗斯生活在贫困线以下的人口比例为29%，如今下降为12.5%，并且还在不断下降。还要指出的是，2008年金融危机后的这几年，俄罗斯民众的实际收入不仅未降低，还略有提高。普京执政时期，还实行了超前的收入分配政策，即工资的增长速度超过GDP的增长，还提出让老百姓看得起病、上得起学与买得起房的政策。
第四，由于实行以上的政策，加上在对外政策方面坚决捍卫俄罗斯的国家利益，不当西方的“应声虫”，坚决反对“阿拉伯之春”，从而赢得了国家尊严。
其实，不论“挺普”还是“反普”的人，大多数在以下问题上存有共识：一是希望俄罗斯在政治领域提高透明度，更加开放，推进政治体制改革；二是要渐进地进行改革，而不是革命，不要因改革出现社会混乱乃至动荡。很多人都认为，当今在俄罗斯，还没有比普京更合适的总统候选人。
所以，普京在这次大选中尽管遇到一些阻力，但支持他的民意仍占主导地位。而反对派阵营成员复杂，没有统一的政治主张和纲领，没有一个可以被多数人接受的领袖人物，没有组织。
普京的难题
然而，俄罗斯不少有识之士认为，普京的困难并不在于能否赢得大选，而是在于赢得选举后如何解决面临的种种难题，取得新的辉煌。
必须推进改革，特别是政治体制改革，改革的方向是进一步推进民主政治。考虑到民众对政治垄断、威权政治的强烈不满，今后普京必须在这方面进行改革。如果说过去在俄罗斯还存在威权政治的空间的话，那现在威权政治的空间日益狭窄。俄媒体报道，普京在会见政治家们时坦承，自己最大的任务是在俄罗斯创建一种体制，使国家命运不会被1～3人左右。但普京强调，推进民主政治改革不可能一蹴而就，要谨慎行事。在转型过程中，推行可控民主政策将更具弹性与柔性。
实现国家全面现代化。这是“梅普”时期提出的一项重大战略性目标。全面现代化包括经济、政治、社会等领域的内容。政治现代化主要是要使俄罗斯公民感到自己生活在民主国家并享有充分的自由。经济现代化主要是要解决俄罗斯经济由资源型向创新型转变，然而实现这种转变将是十分困难的，会遇到很多一时难以解决的问题：俄罗斯企业普遍缺乏创新的积极性；俄罗斯在实行由资源型向创新型转变时，面临着难以解决的矛盾——一方面反复强调要从出口原料为主导的发展经济模式过渡到创新导向型经济发展模式，但另一方面，发展能源等原材料部门对俄罗斯有着极大的诱惑力与现实需要；设备陈旧，经济粗放型发展，竞争力差，这些是老问题且需要较长时间才能解决； 投资不足——为了优化经济结构，就需要大量增加在国际市场上有竞争能力的经济部门和高新技术部门的投资；俄罗斯与西方建立现代化联盟难以取得实质性进展。而且俄投资环境差，引进外资乏力，普京在竞选期间提出的引进外资要占俄GDP25％的宏伟计划也不易实现。创新型经济发展缓慢，经济发展摆脱不了能源等原材料部门，这必然使俄罗斯经济难以在短期内实现现代化与保证稳定和可持续发展。
反腐败问题。“梅普”时期一直强调反对腐败问题，但至今未见成效。据俄有关学者估计，腐败所涉及的金额与国家财政收入相当，企业的行贿支出占企业总支出的一半。
调整经济政策，提高经济效率，缩小贫富差距。要减少或弱化国家对企业的不必要干预，要减少国有经济比重，继续推行私有化政策。普京时期推行了把已私有化了的企业（特别是像能源部门等有关国计民生的企业）收归国有，又形成了国家对经济的垄断。国有企业经济效益低下，大企业领导人都是由政府委派的，容易形成官商一体的垄断，也是滋生腐败的重要土壤。
推行“强军”政策，是实现强国战略的一个重要内容。面对目前的形势、特别是以美国为代表的西方国家的挑战，俄要做强国，要在国际上受到尊重，普京一再强调需要“强军”。他承诺在未来十年，俄将花费7711亿美元实现武装部队的现代化，把俄国防开支占GDP的比重从2011年的3%提高到5%～6%之间。俄不少经济学家认为，这将面临资金来源的困难，对此提议能否实现持怀疑态度。
中俄关系会怎样
普京在竞选过程中发表的第七篇文章，论述俄对外政策。他在文章中特别强调：俄中关系为俄外交基轴，认为中国的经济增长不是威胁，而是俄罗斯发展经济的“东风”。还认为，加强与中国在国际事务中的合作，有利于推进世界多极化。可以预见，普京在面临国内外复杂的情势下，需要强化与中国的关系，来改善自己与俄罗斯的政治、经济环境。俄罗斯在近几年也特别重视发展与中国的经贸关系，2011年两国贸易达到800亿美元，到2015年与2020年可能分别达到1000亿美元与2000亿美元。中俄能源合作虽有一些问题，但总的来说在不断取得进展。然而要指出的是，对普京今后的对华政策，一方面要看到它会朝着更积极的方向发展，但另一方面也不要期望过高。中俄战略协作伙伴关系，只有在战略利益一致的情况下才能得到体现。

You’ll hear the pride in the voice of a volunteer who is going door to door because her brother was finally hired when the local auto plant added another shift.[applause] You’ll hear the deep patriotism in the voice of a military spouse who is working the phones late at night to make sure that no one who fights for this country every has to fight for a job or a roof over their head when they come home.[applause] That’s why we do this.That’s what politics can be.That’s why elections matter.It’s not small, it’s big.It’s important.Democracy in a nation of 300-million can be noisy and messy and complicated.We have our own opinions, each of us has deeply held beliefs.And when we go through tough times, when we make big decisions as a country;it necisarily stirs passions, stirs up controversy.大家会听到志愿者骄傲的声音，当他们看到当地的汽车生产商增加了就业的机会，他们会感到非常的骄傲。大家也会看到我们军人深深的爱国情意，他们守护着美国的安全，我们将保证他们回国之后不会再为找工作而烦恼。这就是我们现在所做的一切，这就是我们政治的目的，这也是为什么选举如此重要。这并不是小事情，而是大事情，是至关重要的事情。我们这个拥有3亿人口的国家，民主的情绪可能十分复杂，可能十分混乱，每个人可能都有自己的观点，每个人都有自己深深的信仰，在我们经历艰难时刻，做出艰难抉择时，我们很自然会有冲突，会有情感的表达，但是我认为它不应当影响我们今晚的表现。

Now we will disagree sometimes fiercely on how to get there, as it has for more then two centuries, progress will come in fits and starts, it’s not always a straight line or a smooth path.By itself a recognition of our common hopes and dreams won’t end the gridlock.Or solve all our problems or substitute for the hard work of building consensus.And making the difficult compromises needed to move the country forward but that common bond is where we must begin.Our economy is recovering, our decade of war is ending.A long campaign is now over.[applause] And whether I earned your vote or not, I have listened to you.I have learned from you and you have made me a better President.With your stories and your struggles, I returned to the White House more determined and more inspired than ever about the work there is to do and the future that lies ahead [applause]

I am hopeful tonight because I have seen that spirit at work in America.I’ve seen it in the family business whose owners would rather cut their own pay than lay off their neighbors, and in the workers who would rather cut back their hours than see a friend lose a job.I’ve seen it in the soldiers who re-enlist after losing a limb, and in those SEALS who charged up the stairs into darkness and danger because they knew their was a buddy behind them watching their back.I’ve seen it on the shores of New Jersey and New York where leaders from every party and level of government have swept aside their differences to help a community rebuild from the wreckage of a terrible storm.我今天晚上充满了希望，因为我看到美国劳动人民的精神，还看到了那些商业人士所做的工作，提供了很多工作机会，而且我还看到那些失业的人民得到了帮助，我还看到战士们仍然守卫着我们的国家，因为他们也知道我们在支持着他们。我还看到新泽西纽约每个政党的领导人，都开始抛开他们的歧见，来探讨怎么从桑迪风暴中重建我们的家园。
And I saw it just the other day, in Mentor, Ohio wehre a father told the story of his eight-year-old daughter who’s long battle with leukemia nearly cost their family everything had it not been for healthc are reform passing just a few months before.The insurance company was about to stop paying for her care.I had an opportunity to not just talk to the father but meet this incredible daughter of his, and when he spoke to the crowd listening to that father’ story, every parent in that room had tears in their eyes because we knew that little girl could be our own.And I know that every American wants her future to be just as bright.That’s who we are.That’s the country I’m so proud to lead as your president.我们还看到，几天前，俄亥俄州一个父亲说他有一个八岁的女儿，女孩的白血病使他的家庭一贫如洗，他们之前并没有得到医疗保障，后来他们受利于几个月前刚刚通过的医改方案，使他们能够支付起医疗费。我和这位父亲，还有他的女儿都见面了，当他说的时候，在场所有的父母都落泪了，因为我们知道，他的女儿也可能是我们的女儿，我们都希望自己的孩子未来充满光芒，这是每个父母的希望，这是我身为总统引以为豪的。
